Abstract
La presente invención proporciona métodos para manipular proteínas para optimizar su desempeño bajo ciertas condiciones ambientales de interés. En algunas modalidades, la presente invención proporciona métodos para manipular enzimas para optimizar su actividad catalítica bajo condiciones ambientales particulares. En algunas modalidades preferidas, la presente invención proporciona métodos para alterar la carga de superficie neta y/o distribución de la carga de la superficie de enzimas (por ejemplo, metaloproteasas o serina proteasa) para obtener variantes de enzimas que demuestran desempeño mejorado en formulaciones detergentes en comparación con la enzima de partida o precursora.
