Abstract

본 발명은 기계적 강도가 높고 질화규서 87중량% 이상과 Al2O3및 Y2O3의 첨가제 혼합물 13중량%이하를 포함하는 소결된 질화규소 성형품에 관한 것이다. Y2O3/Al2O3중량비는 1.1 내지 3.4의 범위이다. 이는, 추가로 HfO2및/또는 ZrO2를 1.0중량% 이하의 양으로 함유할 수 있다.
당해 성형품은 이론적 최대 밀도의 98%에 상응하는 밀도를 갖고, 기계적 강도가 실온에서 850MPa 이상이고 800℃의 온도에서 800MPa이상이다. 파괴인성(K1c)은 8MPa.

Claims (8)

  1. 질화규소 87중량% 이상과 Al2O3의 첨가제 배합물(여기서, Y2O3/Al2O3의 중량비는 1.1 내지 3.4의 범위이다) 13중량% 이하를 포함하고, 추가로 HfO2및/또는 ZrO2를 0 내지 1.0% 함유할 수 있으며, 밀도가 이론적으로 가능한 밀도의 98% 이상이고, 강도가 실온에서 850MPa 이상이며 800℃의 온도에서 800MPa 이상인, 기계적 강도가 우수하고 α 및/또는 β 형태의 결정상내에 Si3N4를 함유하는 소결된 질화규소 세라믹의 성형품.
  2. 제 1 항에 있어서, 파괴 인성(K1c)이 8MPa·이상인 성형품.
  3. 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서, 질화 규소 세라믹의 단위면적당 그레인 수가 3×106그레인/mm2이상이고, 그레인의 평균 그레인 폭이 0.4㎛이하이며, 최대 그레인 폭이 2㎛ 이하이고, 종횡비가 8이상인 성형품.
  4. 제 1 항 내지 제 3 항 중의 어느 한 항에 있어서, 0.1㎛보다 얇은 Si3N4그레인 사이에, 무정형 그레인 경계상에 상응하는 그레인 정계상이 미분되어 있는 성형품.
  5. 제 1 항 내지 제 4 항중의 어느 한 항에 있어서, 파괴 인성(K1c)이 9MPa·m이상이고 실온에서의 기계적인 굴곡 파괴 강도가 950MPa 이상인 성형품.
  6. BET 비표면적이 2 내지 15m2/g의 범위이고 O2함량이 1.5중량%미만이며 β형태 함량이 2용적% 미만인 Si3N4와 미분된 Y2O3, Al2O3또는 HfO2및/또는 ZrO2의 혼합물(여기서, 총 첨가제 함량은 혼합물의 총 중량을 기준으로 하여 6 내지 13중량%이다)을 우선 제조한 다음, 당해 혼합물을 액체 분산 매질 중에서 혼합 및 밀링시키고, 이렇게 하여 제조된 현탁액을 건조 및 응집시킨 다음, 수득된 응집물을 가압하거나, 사출 성형시키거나 재분산시키고 주조하여 성형품을 제조하고, 질소하에 1725내지 1850℃의 온도에서 2시간 이하의 기간 동안 소결시킴을 포함하여, 제 1 항 내지 제 5 항중의 어느 한 항에 따른 소결된 질화규소의 성형품을 제조하는 방법.
  7. 제 6 항에 있어서, 총 첨가제 함량이 8 내지 10.5중량%의 범위인 방법.
  8. 차량용 연소 엔진의 밸브로서 및 기계 및 설비구조에서의 제 1 항 내지 제 5 항 중의 어느 한 항에 따르는 성형품의 용도.
