Abstract
편평한 광 안내장치; 상기 편평한 광 안내 장치의 측면부상에 광이 입사되도록 배치된 광원; 기정해진 입사방향을 갖는 광선에 대하여 P 편광성분을 투과시키고 S편광 성분의 일부 이상을 반사하기 위한 편평한 광 안내장치의 광 방사 위치의 제1의 측면상에 배치된 편광 분리판; 그리고 상기 광 방사 위치에 평행하게 상기 편평한 광 안내장치의 광 방사위치에 대향하는 제2의 측면상에 배치된 광 반사판을 포함하는 직시형 표시소자용 전식 장치.

Claims (8)
- 직시(直視)형 표시 소자용 전식(電飾)장치에 있어서, 편평한 광 유도장치; 상기 편평한 광 유도장치의 측면 부상에 광이 입사되도록 배치된 광원; 기정해진 입사 방향을 갖는 광선에 대하여 P 편광 성분을 투과시키고 S 편광 성분의 일부 이상을 반사시키기 위하여 상기 편평한 광 유도장치의 광방사 위시의 제1의 측면상에 배치된 편광 분리판; 그리고 상기 광 방사 위치와 평행한 상기 평평한 광 유도장치의 광 방사위치에 대향하는 제2의 측면에 배치된 광 반사판을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 직시형 표시 소자용 전식(電飾)장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 편광 분리판이 상대적으로 큰 굴절률을 갖는 광 투과 매체와 상대적으로 작은 굴절률을 갖는 광 투과 매체가 적층된 다층 구조를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 직시형 표시 소자용 전식장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 편광 분리판이 투명 지지체와 가시광의 파장과 같거나 또는 가시광의 파장보다 작은 두께를 갖는 상기 투명 지지체 상에 적층된 하나 이상의 유전체의 얇은 필름을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 직시형 표시 소자용 전식 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 편광 분리판이 상이한 굴절률을 갖는 다수의 적층된 투명 중합체 충돌을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 직시형 표시 소자용 전식 장치.
- 액정(液晶)표시 장치에 있어서, 상기 전식 장치로부터 방사된 광의 기본 편광 방향이 액정표시소자의 광입사 측상에 편광판의 편광의 광학축 방향과 일치하도록 제1항에 따른 전식 장치가 직시형 액정표시소자의 후면상에 배치되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제5항에 있어서, 광의 강도를 최대로 하는 광선의 방향을 상기 액정표시소자의 표시면에 수직인 방향으로 편향시키기 위하여 상기 편광 분리판과 상기 액정표시소자 사이에 배치된 광 편향 수단을 추가로 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시장치.
- 제5항에 있어서, 방사광의 기본 방향을 회전시키기 위하여 상기 전식 장치와 상기 액정표시소자 사이에 배치된 편광 방향을 회전시키기 위한 수단을 추가로 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 직시형 표시 장치용 전식 장치에 있어서, 제1의 편광 방향을 갖는 제1의 편광 성분과 상기 제1의 편광 방향에 대하여 수직한 제2의 편광 방향을 갖는 제2의 편광 성분을 포함하는 산광(散光)을 방사하기 위한 편평한 광 방사수단; 그리고 상기 제2의 편광 성분의 일부를 광의 밝기를 최대로 하는 광 방향을 갖는 광선에 대하여 상기 제1의 편광 성분으로 선별적으로 변환한 후에 상기 제1의 편광 성분을 방사하고 상기 제2의 편광 성분의 일부 이상을 방사하기 위한 편평한 광 방사 수단으로 부터 방사된 광의 광학 경로내에 배치된 편광 변환수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 직시형 표시 장치용 전식 장치.※ 참고사항 : 최초출원 내용에 의하여 공개하는 것임.
