Abstract
Description
Claims (15)
- 임의의 표시 장치에 인접 배치하여 이용되고, 상기 표시 장치의 시각을 제어하는 시각(視角) 제어 소자로서,한 쌍의 투광성 기판과, 상기 한 쌍의 투광성 기판 사이에 유지되어, 액정 분자를 하이브리드 배향시켜 이루어지는 액정층과, 상기 액정층에 전계를 인가하기 위한 전계 인가 수단을 갖는 시각 제어용 액정 셀을 구비하되,상기 시각 제어용 액정 셀의 외면에 편광판이 각각 배치되고, 이들 편광판의 흡수축이 서로 평행하게 배치되며,상기 전계 인가 수단으로부터의 인가 전압에 의해 상기 액정 분자의 배향 상태를 변화시킴으로써 상기 표시 장치의 시각을 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 시각 제어 소자.
- 삭제
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 편광판의 흡수축은 상기 시각 제어용 액정 셀의 법선 방향으로부터 본 상기 액정 분자의 지상축(遲相軸)과 평행 또는 직교로 배치된 것을 특징으로 하는 시각 제어 소자.
- 제 3 항에 있어서,상기 편광판의 흡수축은 상기 시각 제어용 액정 셀의 법선 방향으로부터 본 상기 액정 분자의 지상축과 평행하게 배치된 것을 특징으로 하는 시각 제어 소자.
- 제 1 항, 제 3 항 및 제 4 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 액정층은 유전율 이방성이 부(負)인 액정 재료로 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 시각 제어 소자.
- 청구항 1에 기재된 시각 제어 소자의 제조 방법으로서,상기 시각 제어용 액정 셀의 액정층의 복굴절율 Δn과 액정층 두께 d의 곱 Δn·d를 조정함으로써, 시각 제한 효과의 정도를 조정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 시각 제어 소자의 제조 방법.
- 청구항 1에 기재된 시각 제어 소자와, 상기 시각 제어 소자에 인접 배치된 표시용 액정 셀을 구비한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 액정 분자의 지상축은 상기 표시용 액정 셀의 표시 화면의 상하 방향으로 일치하도록 배치된 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 표시용 액정 셀의 상기 시각 제어용 액정 셀이 배치된 측과 반대측의 외면에 마련된 제 1 편광판과,상기 시각 제어용 액정 셀의 상기 표시용 액정 셀이 배치된 측과 반대측의 외면에 마련된 제 2 편광판과,상기 표시용 액정 셀과 상기 시각 제어용 액정 셀 사이에 마련된 제 3 편광판이 구비된 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 표시용 액정 셀의 상기 시각 제어용 액정 셀이 배치된 측과 반대측의 외면에 마련된 제 1 편광판과,상기 시각 제어용 액정 셀의 상기 표시용 액정 셀이 배치된 측과 반대측의 외면에 마련된 제 2 편광판이 구비된 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 9 항 또는 10 항에 있어서,상기 제 2 편광판의 상기 시각 제어용 셀이 배치된 측과 반대측에, 집광판을 구비한 백 라이트를 배치한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 9 항 또는 제 10 항에 있어서,상기 시각 제어용 액정 셀을 상기 표시용 액정 셀의 관찰자 측과는 반대측에 배치하고, 상기 시각 제어용 액정 셀과 상기 표시용 액정 셀 사이에 산란판을 구비한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 임의의 표시 장치에 인접 배치하여 이용되고, 상기 표시 장치의 시각을 제어하는 시각 제어 소자로서,액정성 고분자를 하이브리드 배향시켜 이루어지는 층을 구비하되,상기 시각 제어 소자의 외면에 편광판이 각각 배치되고, 이들 편광판의 흡수축이 서로 평행하게 배치된 것을 특징으로 하는 시각 제어 소자.
- 청구항 13에 기재된 시각 제어 소자와, 상기 시각 제어 소자에 인접 배치된 표시용 액정 셀을 구비한 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 청구항 7 또는 14에 기재된 액정 표시 장치를 구비한 것을 특징으로 하는 전자기기.
