正極活物質としてのマンガン酸リチウムとニッケル酸リチウムとの混合物と、導電性付与剤とを乾式混合し、これをバインダであるポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVDF)を溶解させたN−メチル−2−ピロリドン(NMP)の中に均一に分散させて、スラリーを作製した。正極活物質を構成する混合物での配合比は、マンガン酸リチウム:ニッケル酸リチウム=75:25(質量%)とした。このスラリーを厚さ20μmのアルミニウム金属箔上に塗布後、NMPを蒸発させることにより正極活物質層を形成し、正極シートを作製した。正極活物質層中の固形分比率は、質量比率(%)で、マンガン酸リチウム:ニッケル酸リチウム:導電性付与剤:PVDF=68:23:5:4とした。その正極シートから、正極活物質層が形成されている部分である幅70mm、長さ130mmの部分と、スラリーが塗布されずにアルミニウム金属箔の表面が露出している領域である幅10mm、長さ25mmの部分とを、これらの部分が分離しないように打ち抜いた。
作製した仮充電前リチウムイオン二次電池に対し、25℃±4℃の環境下で0.1Cの電流値でセル当たりの端子電圧が設定電圧になるまで定電流充電を行い、その後、設定電圧に保持する定電圧充電を行う定電流定電圧充電によって、1時間、仮充電を行った。試料ごとに使用した設定電圧が表3において充電電圧の欄に示されている。仮充電ののち、ラミネートフィルムをいったん開封して電池内部に貯まっているガスを除去し、再度、ラミネートフィルムを真空封止を行った。真空封止後、本充電として、0.2Cで4.2Vまで10時間、定電流定電圧充電を行った。その後、38℃の恒温槽中にて1週間エージングした後、25±4℃の環境下で0.2Cの電流値にて3.0Vまで定電流放電した。これによりリチウムイオン二次電池を作製した。
作製したリチウムイオン二次電池について、仮充電容量、析出物面積比、サイクル試験後の容量維持率、及び、剥離強度によって評価を行った。結果を表3に示す。

Claims (9)
- 正極と、負極活物質として炭素を含む負極活物質層を備える負極と、電解液と、前記正極、前記負極及び前記電解液を内包する外装材と、を少なくとも備え、前記負極活物質層はカルボキシルメチルセルロースを含み、前記電解液は所定の電圧で分解され得る添加剤を含むリチウムイオン二次電池の充電方法であって、
一定電流値で充電を行う定電流充電と該定電流充電に引き続いて一定電圧で充電を行う定電圧充電とからなる仮充電と、前記仮充電の後に前記外装材の内部からガスを抜くガス抜きと、前記ガス抜きの後に前記リチウムイオン二次電池を充電する本充電と、を備え、
前記定電圧充電における前記一定電圧がセル当たり3.3V以上である、充電方法。 - 前記仮充電における前記負極活物質の質量当たりの充電容量が、17mAh/g以上である、請求項1に記載の充電方法。
- 前記負極活物質の比表面積が1.6m2/g以上である、請求項1または2に記載の充電方法。
- 前記負極活物質層は、単体炭素を95.5質量%以上含む、請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載の充電方法。
- 前記負極活物質の表面が、前記負極活物質100質量部に対して0.2〜7重量部の非晶質炭素によって被覆されている、請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項に記載の充電方法。
- 前記負極活物質層の表面での析出物の存在する部位の面積が、前記本充電の終了時において、前記負極活物質層の表面の面積に対して0.5%以下である、請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項に充電方法。
- 正極と、負極活物質として炭素を含む負極活物質層を備える負極と、電解液と、前記正極、前記負極及び前記電解液を内包する外装材と、を少なくとも備え、前記負極活物質層はカルボキシルメチルセルロースを含み、前記電解液は所定の電圧で分解され得る添加剤を含むリチウムイオン二次電池の充電方法であって、
一定電流値で充電を行う定電流充電と該定電流充電に引き続いて一定電圧で充電を行う定電圧充電とからなる仮充電と、前記仮充電の後に前記外装材の内部からガスを抜くガス抜きと、前記ガス抜きの後に前記リチウムイオン二次電池を充電する本充電と、を備え、
前記仮充電における前記負極活物質の質量当たりの充電容量が、17mAh/g以上である、充電方法。 - リチウムイオン二次電池であって、該リチウムイオン二次電池の生産工程中において請求項1乃至7のいずれか1項に記載の充電方法により充電されたリチウムイオン二次電池。
- 正極と、負極活物質として炭素を含む負極活物質層を備える負極と、電解液と、前記正極、前記負極及び前記電解液を内包する外装材と、を少なくとも備え、前記負極活物質層はカルボキシルメチルセルロースを含み、前記電解液は所定の電圧で分解され得る添加剤を含むリチウムイオン二次電池であって、
満充電後、3Vまで放電した後における、前記負極活物質層の表面での析出物の存在する部位の面積が、前記負極活物質層の表面の面積に対して0.5%以下である、リチウムイオン二次電池。
