Abstract
Description
超硬合金製ポットおよびボールを用いてTiNとアルミニウムを80:20の重量比で混合した結合材粉末を得た。次に、この結合材と平均粒子径1μmのCBN粉末とを体積比で35:65となるように配合し、Mo製容器に充填し、圧力55kb(5.6GPa)、温度1450℃で20分間焼結した。XRD(X−Ray Diffractometer)により分析したところ、焼結体の中には、窒化アルミニウム、酸化アルミニウムと硼化アルミニウムと思われるアルミニウム化合物が含まれていた。この焼結体を切削工具用のチップに使用できるように、放電加工やダイヤモンド砥石によって切り出した。この実験例では、完成品が型番SNGN120408となるように工具素材を作製した。

表1に記載されているチップを用いて、長手方向にU字型の4つの溝を有する被削材を30分間切削して各試料を評価した。その結果を表2に示す。被削材は、焼入れ鋼で硬度が58〜62HRCに調整されたSCR420H(JIS規格)を用いた。切削試験の条件は、以下の通りである。
切削条件;切削速度 V=120mm/min.
送り f=0.1mm/rev.
切り込みd=0.15mm
湿式、切削時間30分
工具型番;SNGN120408
実施例1で製作した型番SNGN120408の表面被覆CBN焼結体工具などを用いて切削試験を行った。被削材は、SCR420Hの丸棒で、連続切削の条件は以下の通りである。その結果を表3に示す。

- 立方晶窒化硼素焼結体で形成された基材と、基材表面を被覆する表面被覆膜とを備える工具であって、
少なくとも一部で立方晶窒化硼素焼結体が露出したネガランドと、表面被覆膜を有する逃げ面とが形成されてなる、表面被覆立方晶窒化硼素焼結体工具。 - ネガランドの少なくとも切削断面に関する部分において、立方晶窒化硼素焼結体が露出していることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表面被覆立方晶窒硼素焼結体工具。
- ネガランドの全部において、立方晶窒化硼素焼結体が露出していることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表面被覆立方晶窒硼素焼結体工具。
- ネガランドの幅Wが0.05〜0.2mmであることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の表面被覆立方晶窒化硼素焼結体工具。
- 立方晶窒化硼素焼結体が露出したネガランド部の算術平均表面粗さRaに関して、砥石の研磨方向と平行方向の表面粗さをRa(min)、砥石の研磨方向と垂直方向の表面粗さをRa(max)とした場合、0.3≦Ra(min)/Ra(max)≦0.8であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表面被覆立方晶窒化硼素焼結体工具。
- 表面被覆膜が、Ti、Cr、ZrおよびVからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種と、Al、SiおよびBからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種とからなる化合物の窒化物もしくは炭窒化物、または、Tiの窒化物もしくは炭窒化物を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の表面被覆立方晶窒硼素焼結体工具。
- ネガランドの少なくとも切削断面に関する部分において、立方晶窒化硼素焼結体が露出していることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の表面被覆立方晶窒硼素焼結体工具。

前記露出した立方晶窒化硼素焼結体における立方晶窒化硼素粒子は、当該立方晶窒化硼素粒子表面から0.05μm以上の深さにおいて、Ti、Cr、Zr、V、Arの少なくとも一種を含有し、その総含有量が不可避不純物量以下であることを特徴とする表面被覆立方晶窒硼素焼結体工具。 - 被覆表面膜が、Ti、Cr、ZrおよびVからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種と、Al、SiおよびBからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種とからなる化合物の窒化物もしくは炭窒化物、または、Tiの窒化物もしくは炭窒化物を含むことを特徴とする、請求項11に記載の表面被覆立方晶窒硼素焼結体工具。
- ネガランドの少なくとも切削断面に関する部分において、立方晶窒化硼素焼結体が露出していることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の表面被覆立方晶窒硼素焼結体工具。
- 立方晶窒化硼素焼結体が露出したネガランド部の算術平均表面粗さRaに関して、砥石の研磨方向と平行方向の表面粗さをRa(min)、砥石の研磨方向と垂直方向の表面粗さをRa(max)とした場合、0.3≦Ra(min)/Ra(max)≦0.8であることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の表面被覆立方晶窒化硼素焼結体工具。
- ネガランドの全部において、立方晶窒化硼素焼結体が露出していることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の表面被覆立方晶窒硼素焼結体工具。
- ネガランドの幅Wが0.05〜0.2mmであることを特徴とする請求項15に記載の表面被覆立方晶窒化硼素焼結体工具。
- ネガランドの少なくとも切削断面に関する部分において、立方晶窒化硼素焼結体が露出していることを特徴とする請求項11に記載の表面被覆立方晶窒硼素焼結体工具。
- ネガランドの全部において、立方晶窒化硼素焼結体が露出していることを特徴とする請求項11に記載の表面被覆立方晶窒硼素焼結体工具。
- ネガランドの幅Wが0.05〜0.2mmであることを特徴とする請求項18に記載の表面被覆立方晶窒化硼素焼結体工具。
- 立方晶窒化硼素焼結体が露出したネガランド部の算術平均表面粗さRaに関して、砥石の研磨方向と平行方向の表面粗さをRa(min)、砥石の研磨方向と垂直方向の表面粗さをRa(max)とした場合、0.3≦Ra(min)/Ra(max)≦0.8であることを特徴とする請求項11に記載の表面被覆立方晶窒化硼素焼結体工具。
- 立方晶窒化硼素焼結体を切刃部とする工具素材の表面に、Ti、Cr、ZrおよびVからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種と、Al、SiおよびBからなる群から選択される少なくとも1種とからなる化合物の窒化物もしくは炭窒化物、または、Tiの窒化物もしくは炭窒化物を含む表面被覆膜をPVD法で形成する工程と、
その少なくとも一部において立方晶窒化硼素焼結体が露出するようにネガランドを加工する工程とを含む、表面被覆立方晶窒化硼素焼結体工具の製造方法。 - 前記ネガランドを加工する工程の後に、ネガランドの周縁の少なくとも一部をホーニング加工する工程をさらに含む、請求項21に記載の方法。
