1.繊維構造の物理的影響
繊維構造を物理的に変性する可能性は、多種多様であり、紡糸溶液および紡糸浴の組成を変えることから、フィラメントの押出しおよび延伸方法に影響を与えることに及ぶ。中空繊維、陥没中空繊維構造、または多肢、いわゆる多葉断面繊維は、特に高吸収容量を示す。中空繊維は、例えば、炭酸ナトリウムをビスコースに添加することによって製造できる。酸性紡糸浴に接触すると、二酸化炭素が放出され、これが繊維を膨張させ、中空構造の形成につながる。US4,129,679(A)は、かかる方法に従って製造された繊維を記載している。この方法の特定の機能は、この膨張した繊維は、それ自身に陥没し、それによって多肢断面を形成するということである。多葉断面形状の繊維を製造するのに用いることができる別の選択肢としては、紡糸口金の開口が3以上の肢部分を有し、好ましくは肢部分の長さと幅の比が2:1以上の開口の紡糸口金からセルロース溶液を押し出すことが挙げられる。かかる方法は、WO8901062(A1)に記載されている。高度のクリンプを有する繊維もまた、目立った親水性を有する。例えば、代替クリンプ促進改良剤を用いて、および/または、EP0049710(A1)に記載されているように、ある特定の状況ではゼロに減らされうる低改良剤濃度で、変更されたビスコース組成と紡糸条件とを組み合わせることによって、ビスコース繊維のクリンプに影響を与えることが可能である。
カルボキシメチルセルロース(US4289824(A))、アルギン酸もしくはその塩類(AT402828(B))、グアーガム(WO9855673(A1))、またはアクリル酸とメタクリル酸のコポリマー等の親水性ポリマーのセルロース溶液への添加で、再生セルロース繊維の吸水容量を大きく増加させることができる。DE2550345(A1)は、マトリクスに分散したN‐ビニルアミドポリマーに起因する高流体保有容量を有する再生セルロースマトリクスの混合繊維を記載している。US3844287(A)は、均一に分配されたポリアクリル酸塩を含む再生セルロースの主剤からの、混合繊維の高吸収性材料の製造を提案している。どちらの場合も、繊維の製造は、ビスコース工程の後に行われる。
これらの方法の目的は、再生セルロース繊維または繊維形成性セルロースに直接行われる化学反応によって吸収容量を増加させることである。例としては、セルロースのアクリル酸とのグラフト共重合または、ビスコース繊維の低置換範囲でのカルボキシメチル化が挙げられる。かかる方法は、例えば、JPH0351366に開示されている。
1a.アルカリセルロースの製造、およびそのキサントゲネート化。
1b.アルカリ性グルカン溶液の製造。
2.前記2種の溶液の混合。
3.前記α(1→3)−グルカン含有紡糸溶液を、紡糸口金から硫酸紡糸浴に押し出し、この繊維を延伸し、後処理する。
α(1→3)−グルカン類の重合度は、GPCによってDMAc/LiCl中で測定した。次に、特定された重合度は常に重量平均重合度(DPw)である。
セルロース29.8重量%、NaOH14.9重量%、およびイオウ8重量%を含むビスコースキサントゲネート水溶液を溶解装置で、NaOH4.5重量%を含む第一の溶解液と反応させ、その後、α(1→3)−グルカン9重量%およびNaOH4.5重量%を含む第二の溶解液、最後に水と反応させた。このようにして得られたビスコースは、繊維形成性材料8.90重量%、NaOH5.20重量%、およびイオウ2.4重量%(繊維形成性材料としてセルロース100%に対して)を含み、熟成指数が14ホッテンロートおよび落球式粘度が80秒(Zellcheming Leaflet III/5/Eに準拠して測定)であった。α(1→3)−グルカン10%および25%のビスコース溶液を製造した。これらのグルカン量は、繊維形成性物質中のα(1→3)−グルカンの割合に関連していた。これらのビスコース類は、それぞれ、イオウ2.2重量%(繊維形成性材料としてグルカン10%およびセルロース90%)ならびにイオウ1.8重量%(繊維形成性材料としてグルカン25%およびセルロース75%)を含む。紡糸口金を用いて、この溶液を、硫酸100g/l、硫酸ナトリウム330g/l、および硫酸亜鉛15g/lを含む再生浴に押し出した。この紡糸口金は直径50μmの穿孔を1053有していた。含窒素助剤0.5重量%をこのビスコース紡糸溶液に添加した。適切な繊維の強度を出すために、おおよそ75%の延伸を第二浴(92℃、15g/lのH2SO4)で行った。この延伸速度は50m/分である。
得られた繊維の特性を表1に示す。
セルロース8.70重量%、NaOH5.20重量%、およびイオウ2.3重量%を含み、熟成指数が15ホッテンロートおよび落球式粘度が75秒(Zellcheming Leaflet III/5/Eに準拠して測定)のビスコースを、紡糸口金を用いて、硫酸100g/l、硫酸ナトリウム310g/l、および硫酸亜鉛15g/lを含む再生浴に押し出した。この紡糸口金は直径50μmの穿孔を1053有していた。含窒素助剤0.5重量%をこのビスコース紡糸溶液に添加した。適切な繊維の強度を出すために、おおよそ75%の延伸を第二浴(92℃、15g/lのH2SO4)で行った。この延伸速度は50m/分である。
得られた繊維の特性を表1に示す。
Claims (10)
- キサントゲネート法を用いた高吸収性多糖類繊維の製造方法であって、繊維形成性物質は、セルロースおよびα(1→3)−グルカンの混合物を含み、前記繊維形成性物質における前記α(1→3)−グルカンの含有率は10重量%〜45重量%であり、前記高吸収性多糖類繊維は90%以上の保水容量を有する、高吸収性多糖類繊維の製造方法。
- 前記方法が、ビスコース法である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記α(1→3)−グルカンの少なくとも90%はヘキソース単位であり、前記ヘキソース単位の少なくとも50%がα(1→3)‐グリコシド結合によって結合している、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記繊維がステープルファイバーまたは連続フィラメントである、請求項1〜請求項3のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- キサントゲネート法を用いて製造された高吸収性多糖類繊維であって、繊維形成性物質として、セルロースおよびα(1→3)−グルカンを含み、前記繊維形成性物質における前記α(1→3)−グルカンの含有率は10重量%〜45重量%であり、前記高吸収性多糖類繊維は90%以上の保水容量を有する、高吸収性多糖類繊維。
- 前記α(1→3)−グルカンの少なくとも90%はヘキソース単位であり、前記ヘキソース単位の少なくとも50%がα(1→3)‐グリコシド結合によって結合している、請求項5に記載の繊維。
- 前記繊維がステープルファイバーまたは連続フィラメントである、請求項5又は請求項6に記載の繊維。
- 不織布、衛生製品、ならびにその他の吸収性不織布製品および紙の製造のための請求項5に記載の繊維の使用。
- 繊維製品の製造のための請求項5に記載の繊維の使用。
- 前記繊維製品は、糸、織布、または編地である請求項9に記載の繊維の使用。
