Description
Claims (20)
- ポータブル電子装置であって、
光透過性材料で形成され、第1及び第2の開放端部を有する、継ぎ目のない管状筐体と、
前記継ぎ目のない管状筐体内で取り囲まれる、複数の電気構成要素と、
前記第1及び第2の開放端部のサイズ及び形状をそれぞれ有する、第1及び第2の端部キャップと、
前記第1及び第2の端部キャップを前記継ぎ目のない管状筐体に、前記第1及び第2の開放端部それぞれにおいて確実に取り付けるように構成される、第1及び第2の端部キャップ受け部と、
前記複数の電気構成要素を支持するように構成される内部フレームであって、少なくとも第1及び第2の支持コラムを含み、前記支持コラムのそれぞれが、前記第1及び第2の端部キャップ受け部を経由して、前記第1の端部キャップ及び前記第2の端部キャップによって固定される、内部フレームと、
前記継ぎ目のない管状筐体内に配置され、前記継ぎ目のない管状筐体の内部表面に接着して結合される第1のフレキシブルディスプレイであって、第1の端部及び第2の端部を有し、前記継ぎ目のない管状筐体の実質的に任意の部分を通して可視であるビジュアルコンテンツを提示するように構成される当該第1のフレキシブルディスプレイと、を備え、
前記第1の端部及び前記第2の端部が互いに接触するような方式で、前記第1のフレキシブルディスプレイが配置されることにより、前記ビジュアルコンテンツが、前記第1のフレキシブルディスプレイによって、連続的で途切れのない方式で提示され、ビジュアルコンテンツの連続ループを形成する、ポータブル電子装置。 - 前記第1及び第2の端部キャップが、前記継ぎ目のない管状筐体によって取り囲まれた前記複数の電気構成要素のうちの、選択された電気構成要素を電気的に接続するように構成される、電気コネクタをそれぞれ含む、請求項1に記載のポータブル電子装置。
- 前記継ぎ目のない管状筐体の少なくとも一部分が、ガラスであり、かつ物体による接触に反応するタッチ感知素子を含む、請求項2に記載のポータブル電子装置。
- 前記継ぎ目のない管状筐体が、楕円状断面を有するガラスである、請求項3に記載のポータブル電子装置。
- 前記継ぎ目のない管状筐体の少なくとも一部分が、電波不透過性要素及び光不透過性要素を含み、前記光不透過性要素が、前記複数の電気構成要素のうちの少なくとも一部を隠すためのマスクを形成する、請求項4に記載のポータブル電子装置。
- 前記継ぎ目のない管状筐体の内部表面と前記第1のフレキシブルディスプレイとの間に配置される、第2のフレキシブルディスプレイを更に備え、前記第1のフレキシブルディスプレイによって提示される少なくとも一部のビジュアルコンテンツが、前記第2のフレキシブルディスプレイを通して可視となるように、前記第1及び第2のフレキシブルディスプレイが、互いに対して配置構成される、請求項1に記載のポータブル電子装置。
- 前記第1及び第2のフレキシブルディスプレイが、協調してビジュアルコンテンツを提示し、前記協調ビジュアルコンテンツが、3次元の外観を有する、請求項6に記載のポータブル電子装置。
- 前記継ぎ目のない管状筐体が、ピル形状断面を有する、請求項7に記載のポータブル電子装置。
- 前記第1のフレキシブルディスプレイが、前記ピル形状断面に適合して前記継ぎ目のない管状筐体内に密着する形状へと巻き上げられる、請求項8に記載のポータブル電子装置。
- 前記巻き上げられた第1のフレキシブルディスプレイが、前記継ぎ目のない管状筐体内に完全に挿入された場合、前記巻き上げられた第1のフレキシブルディスプレイが展開されるので、前記展開した第1のフレキシブルディスプレイは、前記継ぎ目のない管状筐体の前記ピル形状断面に適合された状態となる、請求項9に記載のポータブル電子装置。
- プロセッサと、
エンドユーザの存在を検出して、前記検出されたエンドユーザの視野を判定する検出機構と、を更に備える、請求項1に記載のポータブル電子装置。 - 前記検出機構が、画像キャプチャ装置である、請求項11に記載のポータブル電子装置。
- ポータブル電子装置の組み立て方法であって、
継ぎ目のない管状の透明エンクロージャを受け取る工程と、
前記継ぎ目のない管状の透明エンクロージャの断面に適合するように、フレキシブルディスプレイを成形する工程と、
前記成形されたフレキシブルディスプレイを、前記継ぎ目のない管状の透明エンクロージャ内に挿入する工程であって、前記成形されたフレキシブルディスプレイが、前記継ぎ目のない管状の透明エンクロージャの内部表面に対して、前記フレキシブルディスプレイのディスプレイ部分を押し付けさせる形状へと拡張するとき、前記継ぎ目のない管状の透明エンクロージャの内部表面にフレキシブルディスプレイを接着して結合させる工程と、
前記挿入されたフレキシブルディスプレイを、前記継ぎ目のない管状の透明エンクロージャ内で取り囲む工程と、を含む、方法。 - 前記フレキシブルディスプレイが、AMOLEDタイプのディスプレイである、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記挿入されたフレキシブルディスプレイを、前記継ぎ目のない管状の透明エンクロージャ内で取り囲む工程の前に、
この挿入されたフレキシブルディスプレイの内に、第2のフレキシブルディスプレイを挿入する工程を更に含み、前記第2のフレキシブルディスプレイ及び前記挿入されたフレキシブルディスプレイが、協働してビジュアルコンテンツを提示する、請求項13に記載の方法。 - 前記成形されたフレキシブルディスプレイが、前記継ぎ目のない管状の透明エンクロージャの第1の開放端部を通して、前記継ぎ目のない管状の透明エンクロージャ内に挿入される、請求項13に記載の方法。
- ポータブル電子装置であって、
光透過性材料で形成され、第1の開放端部及び第2の開放端部を有する、継ぎ目のない管状筐体と、
前記継ぎ目のない管状筐体内で取り囲まれる、複数の電気構成要素と、
前記複数の電気構成要素を支持するように構成される内部フレームと、
前記継ぎ目のない管状筐体内に配置され、前記継ぎ目のない管状筐体の内部表面に接着して結合される第1のフレキシブルディスプレイであって、第1の端部及び第2の端部を有し、前記継ぎ目のない管状筐体を通して可視であるビジュアルコンテンツを提示するように構成される当該第1のフレキシブルディスプレイと、を備え、
前記第1の端部及び前記第2の端部が互いに接触するような方式で、前記第1のフレキシブルディスプレイが配置され、前記第1のフレキシブルディスプレイが、前記第1の端部と前記第2の端部との接合部を横断して途切れのない方式で延在するビジュアルコンテンツを提示するように構成される、ポータブル電子装置。 - 前記第1の開放端部及び第2の開放端部の各キャップが、複数の端部キャップ受け部を備え、この端部キャップ受け部が、前記内部フレームの支持コラムと前記各キャップとを結合するように動作可能である、請求項17に記載のポータブル電子装置。
- 前記継ぎ目のない管状筐体の内部表面と前記第1のフレキシブルディスプレイとの間に配置される、第2のフレキシブルディスプレイを更に備え、前記第1のフレキシブルディスプレイによって提示される少なくとも一部のビジュアルコンテンツが、前記第2のフレキシブルディスプレイを通して可視となるように、前記第1及び第2のフレキシブルディスプレイが、互いに対して配置構成される、請求項17に記載のポータブル電子装置。
- 前記第1のフレキシブルディスプレイが、個別の画素を選択的に照明するように構成される、請求項17に記載のポータブル電子装置。
