被覆されたすすフィルターの使用時間の間、多数回の再生イベントが行われ、触媒被膜の活性の減少を生じさせる。
粒子状物質(すす)を捕捉し、かつ残存炭化水素と燃焼時にジーゼル排気中に生成するCOを減少させる意図で使用される炭化ケイ素フィルター上にこの触媒を被覆した。アミンで可溶化された白金水酸化物(約17%Pt)溶液をアルミナベースの担体上に含浸し、続いて酢酸溶液を用いてPtを固定することにより、この触媒被膜を作製した。この材料を約40%固体のスラリーとし、5ミクロン未満の粒子サイズまでミル掛けした。ミル掛け後、1100gのCeO2−Pr6O11−ZrO2複合体(30重量%のセリア、10重量%のプラセオジミアおよび60重量%のジルコニアを含有する)をこのスラリーに添加し、続いて酢酸ジルコニル(30%ZrO2で296g)を添加し、そして5ミクロン未満までミル掛けした。次に、このスラリーを約25%固体まで希釈した。このスラリーを使用して、炭化ケイ素フィルター(寸法5.66”×6.0”、300cpsi)の入口(入口のみ)壁をカ焼後に測定して約1g/in3およびPt=75g/ft3のウオッシュコート装填量まで被覆した。この触媒組成物は、0.6g/in3のAl2O3、0.3g/in3のCeO2−Pr6O11−ZrO2、0.05g/in3のZrO2および90g/ft3のPtを含有していた。このフィルターの被覆側をこの評価で使用されるジーゼルエンジンから排出される排出ガスの入口として使用した。この被覆されたフィルター基材を参照触媒Dと呼ぶ。

老化の一つの組においては、この3つの触媒付きすすフィルターを620℃で12時間老化させた。老化の第2の組においては、この被覆されたすすフィルターをエンジンベンチ上で10%スチーム/空気中850℃で12時間老化させた。
車両を使用して、ECE規制83、ECE規制70/220EC98169に規定されたNew European Driving Cycle(NEDC)試験にしたがってこれらの被覆されたフィルターを評価した。試験サイクル内の異なるバッグを集めることにより、テールパイプから放出されるCOとHCを測定する。用語「安定化された」は620℃で20分間処理された新鮮な触媒を指す。用語「老化した」は10%スチーム/空気中850℃で5時間処理された触媒を指す。この結果を表2に示す。
Claims (5)
- 入口末端、出口末端、入口末端と出口末端の間に延びる基材軸方向の長さおよび壁流基材の内壁により規定される複数の通路を含んでなる壁流基材であって;通路の少なくとも一部が入口末端で開口を有し、かつ出口末端で栓をされ、そして通路の少なくとも一部が出口末端で開口を有し、かつ入口末端で栓をされているもの;
壁流基材の内壁上で出口末端から第1の被覆末端まで配設され、そして壁流基材の長さの少なくとも一部の間延びる第1の触媒被膜であって;第1の触媒被膜が第1の共形成されたセリア−ジルコニア−プラセオジミア複合体と第1の耐火性金属酸化物を含んでなるもの;および
壁流基材の内壁上で入口末端から第2の被覆末端まで配設され、それにより入口域を規定し、入口域が壁流基材の長さの50%以下である第2の触媒被膜であって;第2の触媒被膜が第2の白金族金属成分を含んでなるもの、
