Description
a)対象となる波長領域で少なくとも幅100nmの帯域の光の少なくとも50%を反射する可視光透過性複屈折性誘電体多層支持体を提供することと、
b)該支持体の上に、いずれかの順序で、
i)可視光透過性の金属もしくは金属合金の層と、
ii)架橋高分子層と、
を形成することと、
を含む、フィルムの作製方法であって、
該フィルムが可視光透過性であるようにかつその反射帯域が該支持体の反射帯域と対比して拡張されるように、該金属もしくは金属合金の層の厚さが設定される、方法を開示する。別の言い方をすれば、完成フィルムの反射帯域は、支持体単独の反射帯域よりも広い。
a)以下、
i)第1のグレージング材料層と、
ii)第1の機械的エネルギー吸収層と、
iii)対象となる波長領域で少なくとも幅100nmの帯域の光の少なくとも50%を反射する複屈折性誘電体多層支持体、フィルムが可視光透過性であるようにかつその反射帯域が(支持体単独の反射帯域と対比して)拡張されるように設定された厚さを有する金属もしくは金属合金の層、および架橋高分子層、を含む可視光透過性かつ赤外線反射性のフィルムと、
iv)第2の機械的エネルギー吸収層と、
v)第2のグレージング材料層と、
を集成することと、
b)これらの層間から残留空気を除去することと、
c)加熱および加圧によりこれらの層を接合一体化させて単一の物品にすることと、

フィルムが導電を停止させるおそれのある歪みパーセントを決定するために、シンテックTM200/Sテンシル・テスター(SINTECHTM 200/S TENSILE TESTER)(イントロン・コーポレーション(Instron Corp.))を用いてフィルムを延伸した。幅25.4mm×長さ約200mmのストリップをフィルムサンプルの中央から切り出した。No.22−201銀ペイント(カティー・カンパニー(Katy Company))を用いてストリップの細い端部の両側をペインティングした。銀ペイントを乾燥させた後、ペインティングされた縁部上に銅を重ねてストリップの各端部に耐久性電極を形成した。作製されたストリップを引張試験機のジョー中に掴持し、ワニ口クリップを用いて銅電極に電源を接続した。101.6mmのゲージ長および25.4mm/分のクロスヘッド速度を用いつつ、4ボルトの定電圧をストリップに供給し、電流の流れを測定し、歪み%に対して記録した。
非接触導電率測定装置(デルコム・インストラメンツ・インコーポレーテッド製のモデル717Bベンチトップ・コンダクタンス・モニター(Model 717B Benchtop Conductance Monitor,Delcom Instruments Inc.))を用いて本発明のフィルムのシート抵抗を評価した。
値Teは、250nm〜2500nmで試料により透過された太陽エネルギーを全入射太陽エネルギーで割ってパーセントで表される比として定義される。値Aeは、250nm〜2500nmで試料により吸収された太陽エネルギーを全入射太陽エネルギーで割ってパーセントで表される比として定義される。ソーラー特性は、エアマス1.5を用いてASTM E891の日射量データにより算出される。太陽熱利得係数(SHGC)は、
SHGC=Te+0.27(Ae)
として算出される。遮蔽係数(SC)は、所与のグレージングを通過するときの太陽熱利得係数と1枚の標準的な厚さ3.2mmの窓ガラスを通過するときの太陽熱利得係数との比として定義され、
SC=SHGC/87.0
として算出される。
(層1)厚さ0.05mmのMOF支持体フィルム(スリーエムTM・ソーラー・リフレンティング・フィルム(3MTM Solar Reflecting Film)No.41−4400−0146−3)の長さ約6メートルのセクションを、厚さ0.05mm×幅508mmのPET支持体(デュポン・テイジン・フィルムズ製の453メリネックスTM(453 MELINEXTM,DuPont Teijin Films))の長さ約300メートルのロールに接合した。得られた接合フィルムを図8に示されるようなロールツーロール真空チャンバーに装填した。真空チャンバー内の圧力を3×10-4トルに減少させた。支持体を同時にプラズマ前処理して36.6m/分のウェブ速度でアクリレートをコーティングした。プラズマ前処理では、102sccmの窒素ガス流動を行って窒素雰囲気下で1000ワットのパワー(402ボルトおよび2.5アンペア)で操作されるクロムターゲットおよび非平衡dcマグネトロンを利用した。アクリレートコーティングでは、液体モノマー混合物の容器をガラス鐘に入れて約1ミリトルまで圧力を減少させることにより1時間脱ガスされたIRR214アクリレート(ユーシービー・ケミカルズ(UCB Chemicals))とラウリルアクリレートとの50:50混合物を利用した。超音波噴霧器により脱ガスモノマーを276℃に保持された蒸発チャンバー中に2.45ml/分の流量でポンプ送入した。−21℃のドラム温度を用いて、モノマー蒸気を移動ウェブ上に凝縮させ、8.0kVおよび6.5ミリアンペアで操作されるシングルフィラメント銃を用いて電子ビーム架橋させた。
実施例1の方法を用いて、オプションのトップコートプラズマ後処理を施して5層の赤外線遮断アクリレート/Ag/アクリレート/Ag/アクリレート光学スタックを同一のMOF支持体上に形成した。得られたフィルムの外観、透過率(Trans−ルミナスY(Luminous Y)(Tvis))、反射(Refl−ルミナスY(Luminous Y))、太陽熱利得係数、遮蔽係数、および面積抵抗率を評価した。加工条件および評価結果を以下の表1に示す。
導電率vs歪み試験を用いて、透明銀層および酸化インジウム無機誘電体をベースにした市販品(XIRTM 75フィルム、サウスウォール・テクノロジーズ・インコーポレーテッド(Southwall Technologies Inc.))を評価した。サンプルは、わずか1%の歪みを受けたときに破損した。
実施例2および実施例3のフィルムの片面または両面にオプションのプラズマ後処理を施し、その後、2枚の2mmガラスシート間に配置された厚さ0.05mmの2枚のPVBシートから作製されたサンドイッチ体の中央にフィルムの304mm×304mmサンプルを配置することにより、ガラスシート間にラミネーションした。得られたラミネート集成体を真空により脱気し、次に、オートクレーブ処理にかけて光学的に透明なグレージング物品を形成した。グレージング物品を評価し、それらの圧縮剪断強度を決定した。以下の表2に、フィルムの実施例番号、スタックの最上層の上からのプラズマ後処理または支持体の下面へのプラズマ後処理の有無、および測定された圧縮剪断強度を示す。
1. a)対象となる波長領域で少なくとも幅100nmの帯域の光の少なくとも50%を反射する可視光透過性複屈折性誘電体多層支持体を提供することと、b)該支持体の上に、いずれかの順序で、i)可視光透過性の金属もしくは金属合金の層と、ii)架橋高分子層と、を形成することと、を含む、フィルムの作製方法であって、該フィルムが可視光透過性であるようにかつその反射帯域が該支持体の反射帯域と対比して拡張されるように、該金属もしくは金属合金の層の厚さが設定される、方法。
2. 前記対象となる波長領域が赤外領域である、態様1に記載の方法。
3. 前記金属もしくは金属合金の層が、前記支持体と前記架橋高分子層との間に形成される、態様1に記載の方法。
4. 前記架橋高分子層が、前記支持体と前記金属もしくは金属合金の層との間に形成される、態様1に記載の方法。
5. 前記架橋高分子層が、放射線架橋性モノマーのフラッシュ蒸発、気相堆積、および架橋により形成される、態様1に記載の方法。
6. 前記フィルムが伸張可能である、態様1に記載の方法。
7. 前記金属もしくは金属合金の層が銀を含みかつ前記架橋高分子層がアクリレートポリマーを含む、態様1に記載の方法。
8. 層間接着性を向上させるように前記フィルム内の前記金属もしくは金属合金の層と少なくとも1層の隣接層との間の界面を改変することをさらに含む、態様1に記載の方法。
9. 前記フィルム内の前記金属もしくは金属合金の層と隣接層との間でプラズマ処理が利用される、態様8に記載の方法。
10. 前記フィルム内の前記金属もしくは金属合金の層と2層の隣接層との間でプラズマ処理が利用される、態様8に記載の方法。
11. 前記金属もしくは金属合金の層の実質的な亀裂も折り目も生じることなく前記フィルムを延伸することをさらに含む、態様1に記載の方法。
12. 前記フィルムが、加熱された場合、2つの面内方向に異なる収縮率を呈する、態様11に記載の方法。
13. 安全グレージングプレラミネートを提供するように前記フィルムと少なくとも1層の機械的エネルギー吸収材料の層とを加熱して連結一体化させることをさらに含む、態様1に記載の方法。
14. a)グレージング材料の層と、対象となる波長領域で少なくとも幅100nmの帯域の光の少なくとも50%を反射する複屈折性誘電体多層支持体、フィルムが可視光透過性であるようにかつその反射帯域が拡張されるように設定された厚さを有する金属もしくは金属合金の層、および架橋高分子層、を含むフィルムと、を集成することと、b)該グレージング材料と該フィルムとを接合一体化させて単一の物品にすることと、を含む、グレージング物品の作製方法。
15. 前記グレージング材料がガラスを含みかつ前記物品が前記フィルムと該ガラスとの間に接着剤層を含む、態様14に記載の方法。
16. a)以下:i)第1のグレージング材料層と、ii)第1の機械的エネルギー吸収層と、iii)対象となる波長領域で少なくとも幅100nmの帯域の光の少なくとも50%を反射する複屈折性誘電体多層支持体、フィルムが可視光透過性であるようにかつその反射帯域が拡張されるように設定された厚さを有する金属もしくは金属合金の層、および架橋高分子層、を含む可視光透過性かつ赤外線反射性のフィルムと、iv)第2の機械的エネルギー吸収層と、v)第2のグレージング材料層と、を集成することと、b)これらの層間から残留空気を除去することと、c)加熱および加圧によりこれらの層を接合一体化させて単一の物品にすることと、を含む、ラミネート物品の作製方法。
17. 前記残留空気の除去または前記層への加圧が、少なくとも1つのニップロールを用いて行われる、態様16に記載の方法。
18. 前記グレージング材料層が非平面状である、態様16に記載の方法。
19. 前記層が、前記フィルムの実質的な亀裂も折り目も皺も生じることなく接合一体化される、態様18に記載の方法。
20. 前記架橋高分子層が、放射線架橋性モノマーのフラッシュ蒸発、気相堆積、および架橋により形成される、態様16に記載の方法。
21. 前記架橋高分子層がアクリレートポリマーを含む、態様16に記載の方法。
22. 対象となる波長領域で少なくとも幅100nmの帯域の光の少なくとも50%を反射する複屈折性誘電体多層支持体と、フィルムが可視光透過性であるようにかつその反射帯域が該支持体の反射帯域と対比して拡張されるように設定された厚さを有する金属もしくは金属合金の層と、架橋高分子層と、を含む、フィルム。
23. 前記対象となる波長領域が赤外領域である、態様22に記載のフィルム。
24. 前記金属もしくは金属合金の層が、前記支持体と前記架橋高分子層との間に存在する、態様22に記載のフィルム。
25. 前記架橋高分子層が、前記支持体と前記金属もしくは金属合金の層との間に存在する、態様22に記載のフィルム。
26. 前記フィルム内の前記金属もしくは金属合金の層と隣接層との界面が接着性向上処理に付されているかまたは1層以上の隣接層が接着性向上補助剤を含み、それによりこれらの層間の接着性が増大されている、態様22に記載のフィルム。
27. 前記金属もしくは金属合金の層または隣接層がプラズマ処理に付されている、態様26に記載のフィルム。
28. 延伸される、態様22に記載のフィルム。
29. 前記金属もしくは金属合金の層がその各面に隣接して架橋高分子層を有する、態様22に記載のフィルム。

34. 対象となる波長領域で少なくとも幅100nmの帯域の光の少なくとも50%を反射する複屈折性誘電体多層支持体と、フィルムが可視光透過性であるようにかつその反射帯域が該支持体の反射帯域と対比して拡張されるように設定された厚さを有する金属もしくは金属合金の層と、架橋高分子層と、を含む可視光透過性かつ赤外線反射性のフィルムに接合された少なくとも1層の機械的エネルギー吸収材料の層を含む、安全グレージングプレラミネート。
35. 対象となる波長領域で少なくとも幅100nmの帯域の光の少なくとも50%を反射する複屈折性誘電体多層支持体と、フィルムが可視光透過性であるようにかつその反射帯域が該支持体の反射帯域と対比して拡張されるように設定された厚さを有する金属もしくは金属合金の層と、架橋高分子層と、を含む可視光透過性かつ赤外線反射性のフィルムに接合された少なくとも1層のグレージング材料の層を含む、グレージング物品。
36. 前記金属もしくは金属合金の層が、前記支持体と前記架橋高分子層との間に存在する、態様35に記載の物品。
37. 前記架橋高分子層が、前記支持体と前記金属もしくは金属合金の層との間に存在する、態様35に記載の物品。
38. 前記フィルム内の前記金属もしくは金属合金の層と隣接層との界面が接着性向上処理に付されているかまたは1層以上の隣接層が接着性向上補助剤を含み、それによりこれらの層間の接着性が増大されている、態様35に記載の物品。
39. 前記金属もしくは金属合金の層または隣接層がプラズマ処理に付されている、態様35に記載の物品。
40. 前記金属もしくは金属合金の層が銀を含みかつ前記架橋高分子層がアクリレートポリマーを含む、態様35に記載の物品。
41. 前記グレージング材料がガラスを含みかつ前記グレージング物品が前記フィルムと該ガラスとの間に接着剤層を含む、態様35に記載の物品。
42. 前記グレージング材料が非平面状ガラスを含みかつ前記ラミネート物品が光学的に透明で赤外線反射性である、態様35に記載の物品。
43. ウィンドシールドを含む、態様35に記載の物品。
44. 建築用グレージングを含む、態様35に記載の物品。
45. 対象となる波長領域で少なくとも幅100nmの帯域の光の少なくとも50%を反射する複屈折性誘電体多層支持体と、フィルムが可視光透過性であるようにかつその反射帯域が該支持体の反射帯域と対比して拡張されるように設定された厚さを有する金属もしくは金属合金の層と、架橋高分子層と、を含む可視光透過性かつ赤外線反射性のフィルムを含む少なくとも1つのウィンドシールド、後窓、側窓、または天窓を含むグレージングを備える、車両。
46. 前記架橋高分子層が銀を含みかつ前記架橋高分子層がアクリレートポリマーを含む、態様45に記載の車両。
本発明の種々の修正形態および変更形態は本発明から逸脱することなく当業者に自明なものとなろう。本発明は、単に例示を目的として本明細書に明記された事項に制限されるものでない。
Claims (3)
- 対象となる波長領域で少なくとも幅100nmの帯域の光の少なくとも50%を反射する複屈折性誘電体多層支持体を含むフィルムであって、該フィルムが、該支持体の上に、少なくとも約20%の可視光透過性であるようにかつその反射帯域が該支持体の反射帯域と対比して拡張されるように設定された厚さを有する金属もしくは金属合金の層と、該金属もしくは金属合金の層と密接した状態にある架橋高分子層を有し、前記架橋高分子層が前記支持体と前記金属もしくは金属合金の層との間に存在し、更に該フィルムが、電気的連続性を損なうことなく、かつ0.25mの距離で肉眼により検出したときに該金属もしくは金属合金の層の表面に目に見える不連続部を形成することなく、面内方向に少なくとも3%延伸され得る、フィルム。
- 前記対象となる波長領域が赤外領域である、請求項1に記載のフィルム。
- 前記フィルム内の前記金属もしくは金属合金の層と隣接層との界面が接着性向上処理に付されているかまたは1層以上の隣接層が接着性向上補助剤を含み、それによりこれらの層間の接着性が増大されている、請求項1に記載のフィルム。
