Description
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様であるTFTについて、図面を参照して説明する。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態1にて説明したTFTを搭載した表示パネルまたは発光パネルの一形態について、図面を参照して説明する。
本実施の形態は、実施の形態2にて説明した方法により作製した表示パネルまたは表示装置を表示部として組み込んだ電子機器について図19乃至図21を参照して説明する。このような電子機器としては、例えば、ビデオカメラ若しくはデジタルカメラなどのカメラ、ヘッドマウントディスプレイ(ゴーグル型ディスプレイ)、カーナビゲーション、プロジェクタ、カーステレオ、パーソナルコンピュータ、携帯情報端末(モバイルコンピュータ、携帯電話または電子書籍など)が挙げられる。それらの一例を図19に示す。

Claims (2)
- 第1の配線層と、
前記第1の配線層上のゲート絶縁層と、
前記ゲート絶縁層上の第1の半導体層と、
前記第1の半導体層上の第2の半導体層と、
前記第2の半導体層上の第2の配線層と、を有し、
前記第1の配線層は、ゲート電極として機能することができる領域を有し、
前記第2の配線層は、ソース電極又はドレイン電極として機能することができる領域を有し、
前記第1の半導体層は、トランジスタのチャネル幅方向と平行な方向に第1の幅を有する、第1の領域と、前記チャネル幅方向と平行な方向に第2の幅を有する、2つの第2の領域とからなり、
前記第1の領域は、2つの前記第2の領域により挟まれており、
前記第1の領域の前記チャネル幅方向における端部は、前記第2の領域の前記チャネル幅方向における端部よりも、突出しており、
前記第1の領域は、前記トランジスタのチャネルとして機能することができる領域を有し、
前記第2の領域は、前記第2の半導体層と重なる領域と、前記第2の半導体層と重ならない領域とを有し、
前記第2の半導体層は、前記チャネル幅方向と平行な方向に、第3の幅を有し、
前記第3の幅は前記第2の幅より小さく、
前記第1の幅は前記第2の幅より大きいことを特徴とするトランジスタ。 - 第1の配線層と、
前記第1の配線層上のゲート絶縁層と、
前記ゲート絶縁層上の第1の半導体層と、
前記第1の半導体層上の第2の半導体層と、
前記第2の半導体層上の第2の配線層と、を有し、
前記第1の配線層は、ゲート電極として機能することができる領域を有し、
前記第2の配線層は、ソース電極又はドレイン電極として機能することができる領域を有し、
前記第1の半導体層は、トランジスタのチャネル幅方向と平行な方向に第1の幅を有する、第1の領域と、前記チャネル幅方向と平行な方向に第2の幅を有する、2つの第2の領域とからなり、
前記第1の領域は、2つの前記第2の領域により挟まれており、
前記第1の領域の前記チャネル幅方向における端部は、前記第2の領域の前記チャネル幅方向における端部よりも、突出しており、
前記第1の領域は、前記トランジスタのチャネルとして機能することができる領域を有し、
前記第2の領域は、前記第2の半導体層と重なる領域と、前記第2の半導体層と重ならない領域とを有し、
前記第2の半導体層は、前記チャネル幅方向と平行な方向に、第3の幅を有し、
前記第3の幅は前記第2の幅より小さく、
前記第1の幅は前記第2の幅より大きく、
前記第1の配線層は、前記チャネル幅方向と平行な方向に第4の幅を有する、第3の領域と、前記チャネル幅方向と平行な方向に第5の幅を有する、2つの第4の領域とを有し、
前記第3の領域は、2つの前記第4の領域により挟まれており、
前記第3の領域の前記チャネル幅方向における端部は、前記第4の領域の前記チャネル幅方向における端部よりも、突出しており、
前記第3の領域は、前記第1の領域と重なる領域を有し、
前記第4の領域は、前記第2の領域と重なる領域を有し、
前記第4の幅は、前記第5の幅より大きいことを特徴とするトランジスタ。
