Claims (20)
- 薬剤を予め充填し、作動させることによりこの薬剤を自動的に自己投与するための自動注射器であって:
ハウジングと;
該ハウジング内に設けられたチャンバーであって、該チャンバーは、第1の区域と第2の区域を有しており、前記第1の区域は第1の薬剤部分を収容し、前記第2の区域は、前記第1の薬剤部分と混合される第2の薬剤部分を収容するチャンバーと;
前記第1の区域と前記第2の区域との間に設けられた封止機構であって、当初において前記第2の区域から前記第1の区域を分離して保持するような封止状態にあり、前記注射器の作動により混合状態に変換する封止機構と;
前記チャンバーからの薬剤を充填投薬する針アッセンブリーであって、針と針支持体とを具備し、該針支持体は、針アッセンブリーチャンバーを画成し、該針アッセンブリーチャンバーは、前記針の後方端部が開口する内壁面と、前記チャンバーの直径よりも小さい直径の後方開口部とを有する針アッセンブリーと;
該針アッセンブリー近傍の前記チャンバーの前方端部に装着されたインサートであって、該インサートは、軸方向前方に延出するに従って径方向内側に向けて先細になったテーパー状流路を画成し、該テーパー状流路は、前記針アッセンブリーチャンバーの前記後方開口部と連通し、かつ、前記インサートは、前記インサートを介して流体が流れるように、一定の径方向内側のテーパーを有し、かつ、前記チャンバーの内側の壁部に封止するように係合されたインサートと;
前記ハウジング内に配置され、蓄積エネルギー源を有する作動アッセンブリーであって、該作動アッセンブリーの作動により、蓄積されたエネルギーを前記蓄積エネルギー源から解放し、(1)前記封止機構が前記封止状態から前記混合状態に変換され、(2)前記第1及び前記第2の薬剤部分が混合され、かつ(3)前記混合された第1及び第2の薬剤部分が前記インサートにより、前記針アッセンブリーの前記後方開口部のほうに径方向内側に向けられて、前記針アッセンブリーを強制的に通過するようにした作動アッセンブリーと;
を具備してなる自動注射器。 - 前記チャンバーは、前記チャンバーの前方端部に開口形状を有する請求項1に記載の自動注射器。
- 前記インサートの前記一定の径方向内側のテーパーは、前記チャンバーと共通した境界を形成するインサートの一方の端部から、前記針アッセンブリーと共通する境界を形成するインサートの反対側の端部まで、延在している請求項1に記載の自動注射器。
- 前記チャンバーと、前記針アッセンブリーとの間に配置されたフィルターをさらに備える請求項1記載の自動注射器。
- 前記針アッセンブリーの後方開口部は、前記インサートの前方端開口部と少なくとも同じ大きさである請求項1に記載の自動注射器。
- 前記インサートは、前記チャンバーと前記針アッセンブリーとの間にシールを形成するように、環状封止フランジをさらに備える請求項1に記載の自動注射器。
- 薬剤を予め充填し、作動させることによりこの薬剤を自動的に自己投与するための自動注射器であって:
ハウジングと;
該ハウジング内に設けられたチャンバーであって、該チャンバーは、第1の区域と第2の区域を有しており、前記第1の区域は第1の薬剤部分を収容し、前記第2の区域は、前記第1の薬剤部分と混合される第2の薬剤部分を収容するチャンバーと;
前記第1の区域と前記第2の区域との間に設けられた封止機構であって、当初において前記第2の区域から前記第1の区域を分離して保持するような封止状態にあり、前記注射器の作動により混合状態に変換する封止機構と;
前記チャンバーからの薬剤を投薬する針アッセンブリーであって、針と針支持体とを具備し、該針支持体は、針アッセンブリーチャンバーを画成し、該針アッセンブリーチャンバーは、前記針の後方端部が開口する内壁面と、前記チャンバーの前方端部の直径よりも小さい直径の後方開口部とを有する針アッセンブリーと;
該針アッセンブリー近傍の前記チャンバーの前方端部に装着されたインサートであって、該インサートは、前記チャンバーの内側の壁部に封止するように係合する外側表面を有した漏斗部を備えており、該漏斗部は、前記針アッセンブリーに隣接した前記インサートの一方の端部に小開口部を有し、前記チャンバーに隣接した前記インサートの反対側の端部に大開口部を有しており、かつ、前記チャンバーから前記針アッセンブリーまで、径方向内側に先細になった流路を有しており、該流路は、前記針アッセンブリーチャンバーの前記後方開口部と連通し、前記漏斗部が、該漏斗部を介して流体が流れるように、前記大開口部から前記小開口部まで一定の径方向内側にテーパーを有したインサートと;
前記ハウジング内に配置され、蓄積エネルギー源を有する作動アッセンブリーであって、該作動アッセンブリーの作動により、蓄積されたエネルギーを前記蓄積エネルギー源から解放し、(1)前記封止機構が前記封止状態から前記混合状態に変換され、(2)前記第1及び前記第2の薬剤部分が混合され、かつ(3)前記混合された第1及び第2の薬剤部分が前記インサートにより、前記針アッセンブリーの前記後方開口部のほうに径方向内側に向けられて、前記針アッセンブリーを強制的に通過するようにした作動アッセンブリーと;
を具備してなる自動注射器。 - 前記インサートは、前記チャンバーの前記前方端部の外側周縁に当接する環状封止フランジをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の自動注射器。
- 前記インサートは、前記チャンバーと前記針アッセンブリーとの間にシールを形成する環状封止フランジをさらに備える請求項7に記載の自動注射器。
- 前記インサートは、前記小開口部を有する前記漏斗部の端部に配置された環状封止フランジをさらに備える請求項7に記載の自動注射器。
- 前記インサートの前記漏斗部には、破断自在な薄膜が配置されている請求項7に記載の自動注射器。
- 前記インサートは、エラストマー材またはゴム材からなる請求項7に記載の自動注射器。
- 前記漏斗部の大開口部及び小開口部は、前記インサートのそれぞれの端部における中央に配置されている請求項7に記載の自動注射器。
- 前記針アッセンブリーに、未溶解の薬剤が入り込むことを防止するように、前記漏斗部の大開口部または小開口部のいずれかを覆うフィルターをさらに備える請求項7に記載の自動注射器。
- 前記チャンバーの前方端部は、開口形状を有する請求項7に記載の自動注射器。
- 薬剤の充填を含む自動注射器の組み立て方法であって、
チャンバーを第1の区域と第2の区域とに分割する封止機構を、前記チャンバー内に挿入することと;
前記蓄積エネルギーを含み、作動すると前記蓄積エネルギーを前記蓄積エネルギー源から解放する作動アッセンブリーを、自動注射器内に挿入することと;
前記第2の区域内に、湿潤薬剤部分を充填することと;
前記第1の区域内に、乾燥薬剤部分を充填することと;
インサートが、軸方向前方に延出するに従って径方向内側に向けて先細になったテーパー状流路を画成し、かつ、前記インサートを介して流体が流れるように、一定の径方向内側にテーパーを有し、かつ、前記チャンバーの内側の壁部に封止するように係合されたインサートであり、該テーパー状のインサートを、前記第一の区域で、前記チャンバーの前方端部に挿入することと;
針アッセンブリーは、針と針支持体とを具備し、該針支持体は、前記テーパー状流路と連通する針アッセンブリーチャンバーを画成し、該針アッセンブリーチャンバーは、前記針の後方端部が開口する内壁面を有し、前記チャンバーの前方端部に前記針アッセンブリーを取り付けることと;
ハウジング内に前記針アッセンブリーと前記チャンバーとを配置することと、を含むことを特徴とする自動注射器の組み立て方法。 - 前記インサートは、前記チャンバーの直径と同じまたはそれよりも小さい直径を有した後方開口部を有し、前記針アッセンブリーの後方開口部の直径と同じまたはそれよりも小さい直径を有した前方開口部を有する請求項16に記載の自動注射器の組み立て方法。
- 前記針アッセンブリーは、前記チャンバーの前方端部の直径よりも小さい直径を有した後方開口部を有することをさらに含む請求項16に記載の自動注射器の組み立て方法。
- 前記チャンバーの前方端部は、開口形状を有する請求項16に記載の自動注射器の組み立て方法。
- 前記インサートは、前記チャンバーと前記針アッセンブリーとの間にシールを形成するように、環状封止フランジをさらに備える請求項16に記載の自動注射器の組み立て方法。
