Claims (15)
- 画像処理システムであって、
3色のサブピクセルを有するサブピクセル繰り返しグループを含むディスプレイを用いて画像を表示するためのソース画像データ・フォーマットを有するソース画像データを受信することができる入力手段と、
前記入力手段により入力された前記ソース画像データの入力解像度を検出するための入力解像度検出器と、
検出された前記入力解像度に従って、前記ソース画像データを補間或は複製する補間/複製ブロックと、
前記補間或は複製されたソース画像データを、少なくとも4色のサブピクセルを有するサブピクセル繰り返しグループを含むディスプレイに表示するために、複数のフィルタ・カーネルに従ってのサブピクセル・レンダリングを実行するレンダリング回路と、
前記少なくとも4色のサブピクセルを有するサブピクセル繰り返しグループを含み、前記3色のサブピクセルを有するサブピクセル繰り返しグループを用いて前記ターゲット画像データに対応するターゲット画像を表示するために必要なサブピクセルの総数の約半分のサブピクセル数を有し、ターゲット画像データをレンダリングするディスプレイと、
を備え、
前記補間/複製ブロックは、
前記ソース画像データをラッチし、乗算器及び加算器を利用して三次補間を実行することによって、ピクセルデータのラインの幅をダブリングするピクセル・ダブラー回路及びダブリングされた前記ソース画像データを保存し、前記乗算器及び加算器を介して垂直補間を実行した後、前記レンダリング回路に出力するライン・バッファを含む画像処理システム。 - 前記ソース画像データ・フォーマットがNTSCである、請求項1の画像処理システム。
- 前記ターゲット画像データ・フォーマットがHDTVである、請求項2に記載の画像処理システム。
- 前記ディスプレイの解像度がHDTVの解像度の約半分である、請求項3に記載の画像処理システム。
- ターゲット画像データをディスプレイ上にレンダリングする方法であって、
3色のサブピクセルを有するサブピクセル繰り返しグループを含むディスプレイを用いて画像を表示するためのソース画像データ・フォーマットを有するソース画像データを入力する段階と、
入力された前記ソース画像データの入力解像度を検出する段階と、
検出された前記入力解像度に従って、前記ソース画像データを補間或は複製するために、前記ソース画像データをラッチし、乗算器及び加算器を利用して三次補間を実行することによって、ピクセルデータのラインの幅をダブリングする段階と、
ダブリングされた前記ソース画像データを保存し、前記乗算器及び加算器を介して垂直補間を実行した後、補間或は複製されたソース画像データを出力する段階と、
前記補間或は複製されたソース画像データを、少なくとも4色のサブピクセルを有するサブピクセル繰り返しグループを含むディスプレイに表示するために複数のフィルタ・カーネルのうちのいずれか一つを選択し、前記選択されたフィルタ・カーネルに従がってサブピクセル・レンダリングを実行する段階と、
前記少なくとも4色のサブピクセルを有するサブピクセル繰り返しグループを含み、前記3色のサブピクセルを有するサブピクセル繰り返しグループを用いて前記ターゲット画像データに対応するターゲット画像を表示するために必要なサブピクセルの総数の約半分のサブピクセル数を有する前記ディスプレイ上に前記ターゲット画像データをレンダリングする段階と、
の諸段階を含む方法。 - 前記ソース画像データ・フォーマットがNTSCである、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記ターゲット画像データ・フォーマットがHDTVである、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記ディスプレイの解像度がHDTVの解像度の約半分である、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 画像処理システムであって、
3色のサブピクセルを有するサブピクセル繰り返しグループを含むディスプレイを用いて画像を表示するためのNTSCフォーマットを有するソース画像データを入力する手段と、
前記入力する手段により入力された前記ソース画像データの入力解像度を検出するための入力解像度検出器と、
検出された前記入力解像度に従って、前記ソース画像データを補間或は複製する補間/複製ブロックと、
前記補間或は複製されたソース画像データを少なくとも4色のサブピクセルを有するサブピクセル繰り返しグループを含むディスプレイに表示するために、複数のフィルタ・カーネルのうち、いずれか一つを選択し、選択された前記フィルタ・カーネルに従がって、サブピクセル・レンダリングする回路と、
少なくとも4色のサブピクセルを有するサブピクセル繰り返しグループを含むディスプレイに表示するためのHDTVフォーマットを有するターゲット画像をレンダリングするディスプレイであり、前記NTSCフォーマットを用いて前記ターゲット画像を表示するために必要なサブピクセルの総数の約半分のサブピクセル数を有する前記ディスプレイと、を備え、
前記補間/複製ブロックは、
前記ソース画像データをラッチし、乗算器及び加算器を利用して三次補間を実行することによって、ピクセルデータのラインの幅をダブリングするピクセル・ダブラー回路及びダブリングされた前記ソース画像データを保存し、前記乗算器及び加算器を介して垂直補間を実行した後、前記レンダリング回路に出力するライン・バッファを含む画像処理システム。 - 前記ディスプレイは、互いに異なる色を有する少なくとも4つのサブピクセルからなる繰り返しサブピクセル・グループを含む、請求項1または9に記載の画像処理システム。
- 前記ディスプレイは、互いに異なる色を有する少なくとも4つのサブピクセルからなる繰り返しサブピクセル・グループを含む、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記ディスプレイのサブピクセルは赤色、緑色、青色に加えて白色、シアン、マゼンタ、または、青灰色を有する、請求項1または9に記載の画像処理システム。
- 前記ディスプレイのサブピクセルは赤色、緑色、青色に加えて白色、シアン、マゼンタ、または、青灰色を有する、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記ディスプレイのサブピクセルの縦:横の比率は3:2であることを特徴とする、請求項1または9に記載の画像処理システム。
- 前記ディスプレイのサブピクセルの縦:横の比率は3:2であることを特徴とする、請求項5に記載の方法。
