Description
本発明は、一般に、砥粒加工工具および砥粒加工工具の製造方法に関する。
組成物AおよびBを用いて比較テスト用のビトリファイドテストバーを作製した。組成物Aは、PCDおよびPCBN材料を研削するために用いられる市販のダイヤモンドホイール、特にダイヤモンドベースの切削工具のインサート、例えばPCD、CVDおよび他の物の中で用いられるフリット結合剤材料であった。組成物Aは、59〜72重量%のSiO2/Al2O3、20〜23重量%のB2O3、1〜2重量%のCaOおよび約5.0重量%のNa2Oを含有した。組成物Aは、ZnO、混合アルカリ金属酸化物、またはBaOを含有しなかった。組成物Bは、本発明のビトリファイド結合剤であり、重量パーセントで表1に示す。
表1に示したガラス質結合剤組成物Bを使用して研削ホイールタイプ6A2HAを以下の通り作製した。管状ミキサーを使用して、162gの原材料をふた付きのプラスチックコンテナの中で10分間混合し、結合剤混合物を形成した。混合物をダイヤモンド砥粒およびガラス/セラミック球のグレードSL150と混合した。ダイヤモンド砥粒は、S−Gセラミックス&プラスチック社(S-G Ceramics & Plastics, Inc.)から入手し、そして公称15/25のミクロンサイズであった。ガラス/セラミックス球はオーストラリアのエンバイロンスフェア社(Environsphere Co., Australia)から入手し、そして平均直径は60〜100μmであった。混合物を24メッシュスクリーン(米国標準サイズ)を通して篩いに掛け、如何なる塊も分けた。次に、混合物を成型リングに圧入し、そしてリングを空気中で、温度を最大800℃まで100℃/時間で上昇し、800℃で4時間リングを保持することによって、焼成した。焼成後、砥粒リング(またはリム)を冷却し、金型を剥がし、そしてコアに膠付けした。
その好ましい態様を参照して、本発明を詳細に示し、そして記載したが、添付の特許請求の範囲によって包含される本発明の範囲から離れずに、形式および細部の各種変更をその中で行なうことができることは、当業者に理解されるであろう。
Claims (7)
- a)金属コア、およびb)コアの周囲の砥粒リムを含んでなる砥粒ホイールであって、該リムはダイヤモンドからなる超砥粒成分、中空体を含むフィラー成分および850℃未満の温度で焼成されたガラス質結合剤成分を含み、かつ開放気孔率が少なくとも15容量%であり、該ガラス質結合剤は酸化亜鉛および少なくとも2種類のアルカリ金属酸化物を含み、該混合されたアルカリ金属酸化物の量がガラス質結合剤成分の5〜15重量%であることを特徴とする砥粒ホイール。
- 金属コアがアルミニウムから形成されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の砥粒ホイール。
- 中空体の少なくとも90重量%は粒径が20μm〜120μmの範囲内であることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の砥粒ホイール。
- 中空体が10〜30容量%の範囲の量で存在することを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の砥粒ホイール。
- 混合されたアルカリ金属酸化物の量がガラス質結合剤成分の8〜12重量%であることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の砥粒ホイール。
- a)酸化亜鉛および5〜15重量%の少なくとも2種類のアルカリ金属酸化物を含むフリットガラス結合剤成分を選択すること、b)ダイヤモンドからなる超砥粒成分、中空体を有するフィラー成分および該ガラス質結合剤成分を混合すること、およびc)少なくとも15容量%の開放気孔率を有する固定砥粒ホイールを形成するに十分な時間、混合された成分を600℃〜850℃の範囲の温度で焼成することの各工程を含んでなる固定砥粒ホイールの製造方法。
- a)少なくとも5容量%の量で存在するダイヤモンドからなる超砥粒成分、中空体を有しそして少なくとも10容量%の量で存在するフィラー成分、および酸化亜鉛および5〜15重量%の少なくとも2種類のアルカリ金属酸化物を含みそして28容量%よりも少ない量で存在するガラス質結合剤成分を混合すること、b)該混合された成分を、中空体の10重量%よりも多くを押し潰すことを避けるに有効な圧力で成型すること、およびc)少なくとも15容量%の開放気孔率を有する固定砥粒ホイールを形成するに十分な時間、600℃〜850℃の範囲の温度で該混合された成分を焼成することの各工程を含んでなる固定砥粒ホイールの製造方法。
