Abstract
Description
Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. (a)第1の主表面を有する裏材料と、 (b) 前記第1の主表面に塗布され、前記第1の主表面に付着させた接 触面と、反対面と、前記接触面から前記反対面に及ぶ厚さとを有する研磨層と、 を含み、前記研磨層は、 (i)有機性接着系と (ii)前記有機性接着系に付着させた複数の研磨凝集塊と、を含み 、前記研磨凝集塊の各々は、 (1)無機結合剤と、複数の砥粒と、を含み、 (2)サイズおよび形状が実質的に一様であり、 前記厚さに垂直で前記厚さの中心点に位置する研磨層断面は、研磨凝集塊の総 断面積が前記中心点から接触面までの距離の75%の厚さに沿った点に位置する 研磨凝集塊の総断面積と実質的に同じである、被覆研磨物品。 2. 前記裏材料は、延伸倍率が約2%未満である低延伸裏材料である、請求 項1記載の被覆研磨物品。 3. 前記有機性接着系は、サイズ塗層とメーク塗層とを含み、前記サイズ塗 層とメーク塗層のうち少なくとも1つの平均ヌープ硬度が、70KHNである、 請求項1記載の被覆研磨物品。 4. 前記複数の砥粒は、ダイヤモンドと、立方晶系窒化硼素と、その組み合 わせとから成る群から選択された超砥粒である請求項1記載の被覆研磨物品。 5. 前記研磨凝集塊の各々の形状は、四側面を有する切頭ピラミッド形であ る、請求項1記載の被覆研磨物品。 6. 前記研磨凝集塊の各々の形状は、立方体形である、請求項1記載の被覆 研磨物品。 7. (1)第1の主表面を有する裏材料と、 (2)前記第1の主表面に塗布された研磨層と、を含み、前記研磨層は、 (a)有機性接着系と、 (b)前記接着系に配分された複数の有機凝集塊と、を含み、前記研 磨凝集塊の各々は、無機結合剤と複数の砥粒とを含み、四側面を有する切頭ピラ ミッド形状である、請求項1記載の被覆研磨物品。 8. 被覆研磨物品を製造する方法において、 (a)第1の主表面を有する裏材料を形成するステップと、 (b)前記裏材料の前記第1の主表面に付着させた接触面と、反対面と、前記 接触面から前記反対面におよぶ厚さと、を有する研磨層を形成するステップとを 含み、前記厚さに垂直で前記厚さの中心点に位置する研磨層断面は、研磨凝集塊 の総断面積が前記中心点から接触面までの距離の75%の厚さに沿った点に位置 する研磨凝集塊の総断面積と実質的に同じであり、研磨層を形成するステップは 、 (1)第1の有機性結合剤前駆体を含むメーク塗層を前記裏材料の前記第1 の主表面に塗布し、 (2)複数の研磨凝集塊であって、 (i)無機結合剤と、複数の砥粒と、を含み (ii)サイズおよび形状が実質的に一様である研磨凝集塊を提供す るステップと、 (3)メーク塗層中に前記研磨凝集塊を配分するステップと、 (4)メーク塗層をエネルギー源に暴露し、第1の結合剤前駆体を少なくと も一部硬化させるステップと、 (5)第2の有機性結合剤前駆体を含むサイズ塗層を前記研磨凝集塊に塗布 するステップと、 (6)前記サイズ塗層を第2のエネルギー源に暴露し、前記第2の結合剤前 駆体を硬化し、任意に、前記第1の結合剤前駆体の硬化を完成させるステップと 、を含む方法。 9. ロックウェル「C」硬度が、少なくとも25である硬質加工物を研磨す る方法において、 (1)裏材料と研磨層とを含む被覆研磨物品を提供するステップを含み、前記 研磨層は接着系と研磨凝集塊とを含み、前記研磨凝集塊は、 (a)実質的に遊離金属を含まない無機金属酸化物結合剤と、 (b)実質的に超砥粒を含む砥粒と、を含み、 (2)前記被覆研磨物品を前記硬質加工物に接触させるステップと、 (3)前記被覆研磨物品と前記硬質加工物とをお互いに対して移動させるステ ップと、を含む、方法。 10. 前記硬質加工物は、前記被覆研磨物品を形直ししてから前記研磨物品を 前記硬質加工物に接触させることによって精密に研磨される、請求項9記載の方 法。
