Description
有し、下記式1により表される前記正極の真密度比が0.72以上であることを特徴とする。
(式1) 真密度比=電極活物質層の活物質見掛け密度÷活物質の真密度
〈正極の作製〉
LiCoO2粉末に、ZrおよびMgをコバルトに対して0.2モル%それぞれ添加させた後、焼成することにより、Zr、Mg含有リチウムコバルト複合酸化物からなる正極活物質を得た。
(式1) 真密度比=電極活物質層の活物質見掛け密度÷活物質の真密度
(式3) 活物質の真密度=(電極全質量−発泡金属密度×(1−発泡金属の空孔率))×活物質の質量配合比率÷(電極全体積−発泡金属質量÷発泡金属密度)
負極活物質としての黒鉛95質量部と、増粘剤としてのカルボキシメチルセルロース3質量部と、結着剤としてのスチレンブタジエンゴム2質量部と、水とを混合して負極活物質スラリーとした。この負極活物質スラリーを銅製の負極集電体(厚み8μm)の両面に塗布し、乾燥・圧延して負極を作製した。
上記正極及び負極を、ポリプロピレン製微多孔膜からなるセパレータを介して巻回し、その後プレスすることにより、扁平渦巻電極体を作製した。
非水溶媒としてのエチレンカーボネート(EC)とジエチルカーボネート(DEC)とメチルエチルカーボネート(MEC)とを体積比30:20:50(25℃)で混合し、電解質塩としてのLiPF6を1M(モル/リットル)となるように溶解し、ビニレンカーボネート(VC)を3.0質量%、LiBF4を0.1質量%となるように添加し、さらにシクロヘキシルベンゼン(CHB)を1.0質量%、tert−ブチルベンゼンを1.5質量%添加して電解液となした。
肉厚0.2mmのアルミニウム合金製外装缶に上記電極体を挿入した後、上記電解液を注液し、外装缶の開口部を封口することにより、公称容量が990mAhである非水電解質二次電池(幅34mm×高さ50mm×厚み5.5mm)を作製した。
正極の真密度比を0.68から0.78まで変化させた正極を用いたこと以外は、上記実施の形態と同様にして、電池A1〜A6を作製した。また、LiBF4を添加していないこと以外は、上記電池A1〜A6と同様にして、電池X1〜X6を作製した。
充電条件:定電流 1It(990mA)、定電圧(4.2V)、合計3時間、25℃
放電条件:定電流 1It、終止電圧 2.75V、25℃
サイクル特性(%):(500サイクル目放電容量/1サイクル目放電容量)×100
ジルコニウムの添加量を、コバルトに対して0.0〜2.0モル%とした正極を用いたこと以外は、上記実施の形態と同様にして、正極真密度比0.72の電池B1〜B6を作製した。また、LiBF4を添加していないこと以外は、上記電池B1〜B6と同様にして、電池Y1〜Y6を作製した。
LiBF4の添加量を、0.0〜1.5質量%と変化させたこと以外は、上記実施の形態と同様にして、正極真密度比0.72の電池C1〜C9を作製した。
ビニレンカーボネート(VC)の添加量を0〜5.0質量%としたこと以外は、上記実施の形態と同様にして、正極真密度比0.72の電池D1〜D6を作製した。また、LiBF4を添加していないこと以外は、上記電池D1〜D6と同様にして、電池Z1〜Z6を作製した。
〔高温保存試験〕
充電条件:定電流 1It(990mA)、定電圧(4.2V)、合計3時間、25℃
保存条件:60℃ 20日間
非水溶媒としては上記実施の形態に示したもの以外に、プロピレンカーボネート、γ−ブチロラクトン、ジメチルカーボネート、テトラヒドロフラン、1,2−ジメトキシエタン、1,3−ジオキソラン、2−メトキシテトラヒドロフラン、ジエチルエーテル等を用いることができる。
Claims (1)
- 正極活物質を有する正極と、負極活物質を有する負極と、非水溶媒と電解質塩とを有する非水電解質と、を備える非水電解質二次電池であって、
前記正極活物質が、少なくともジルコニウムが添加されたリチウムコバルト複合酸化物を有し、
前記非水電解質が、LiPF 6 と、前記非水電解質の全質量に対して0.05〜1.0質量%のLiBF4と、1.0〜4.0質量%の不飽和環状カーボネートと、を有し、
下記式1により表される前記正極の真密度比が0.72以上である、
ことを特徴とする非水電解質二次電池。
