Claims (7)
- 絶縁基板上に形成されたグレーズ層と、
上記グレーズ層上に形成された抵抗体層と、
上記抵抗体層上に、上記抵抗体層の一部を臨ませてその部分が発熱部を形成するように形成された導体層と、
上記導体層および発熱部を覆うように形成された保護層と、
を備えたサーマルプリントヘッドであって、
上記保護層は、下層第1保護層と、この第1保護層に重なり、かつ最外層となる上層第2保護層とで構成されており、
上記第1保護層は、500〜800Hkの硬度を有し、かつ1〜2μmの厚みに形成されているとともに、上記第2保護層は、1000〜2000Hkの硬度を有し、かつ5〜8μmの厚みに形成されていることを特徴とする、サーマルプリントヘッド。 - 上記抵抗体層の厚みは500〜1000Åであり、上記導体層の厚みは0.6〜1μmである、請求項1に記載のサーマルプリントヘッド。
- 上記グレーズ層には、膨隆部が形成されており、上記発熱部が上記膨隆部上に位置するように形成されている、請求項1または2に記載のサーマルプリントヘッド。
- 上記第1保護層は、酸化珪素を主成分として形成されている、請求項1ないし3のいずれかに記載のサーマルプリントヘッド。
- 上記第2保護層は、Si−Al−O−N、SiCまたはSiNを主成分として形成されている、請求項1ないし3のいずれかに記載のサーマルプリントヘッド。
- 絶縁基板上にグレーズ層を形成する工程と、
上記グレーズ層上に抵抗体層をスパッタリングにより形成する抵抗体層形成工程と、
上記抵抗体層上に、上記抵抗体層の一部を臨ませてその部分が発熱部を形成するように導体層をスパッタリングにより形成する導体層形成工程と、
上記導体層および発熱部を覆うようにして、第1保護層をノンバイアス・スパッタリングにより形成する第1保護層形成工程と、
上記第1保護層上に、最外層となる第2保護層をバイアス・スパッタリングにより形成する第2保護層形成工程と、
を含み、
上記第1保護層形成工程において、上記第1保護層は、500〜800Hkの硬度を有し、かつ1〜2μmの厚みに形成されるとともに、上記第2保護層形成工程において、上記第2保護層は、1000〜2000Hkの硬度を有し、かつ5〜8μmの厚みに形成されることを特徴とする、サーマルプリントヘッドの製造方法。 - 上記抵抗体層形成工程において、上記抵抗体層は、500〜1000Åの厚みに形成され、上記導体層形成工程において、上記導体層は、0.6〜1μmの厚みに形成される、請求項6に記載のサーマルプリントヘッドの製造方法。
