前記無機粒子は、前記バインダー材よりも屈折率が大きく、
前記外層は、多孔質材を含むことを特徴とする。

Claims (13)
- 半導体発光素子と、前記半導体発光素子の少なくとも一部を覆って形成された蛍光体層と、前記蛍光体層の少なくとも一部を覆って形成された外層とを含む半導体発光装置であって、
前記蛍光体層は、バインダーと前記バインダーに分散された蛍光体とを含み、
前記バインダーは、バインダー材と前記バインダー材を透過する光の波長の4分の1以下の実効粒径を有する無機粒子とを含み、
前記無機粒子は、前記バインダー材よりも屈折率が大きく、
前記外層は、多孔質材を含むことを特徴とする半導体発光装置。 - 前記半導体発光素子から放出される光は、最大ピーク波長が490nm以下である請求項1に記載の半導体発光装置。
- 前記バインダーの屈折率が、前記半導体発光素子における光取り出し側の主面を構成する材料の屈折率より低く、かつ前記外層の屈折率より高い請求項1に記載の半導体発光装置。
- 前記多孔質材は、無機材料からなる請求項1に記載の半導体発光装置。
- 前記多孔質材は、前記無機材料からなる粒子の凝集多孔体である請求項4に記載の半導体発光装置。
- 前記多孔質材は、無機材料からなる粒子の凝集多孔体であり、
前記粒子は、前記外層を透過する光の波長の4分の1以下の平均粒径を有しており、
前記凝集多孔体の平均孔径が、前記外層を透過する光の波長の4分の1以下である請求項1に記載の半導体発光装置。 - 前記半導体発光素子と前記蛍光体層との間に介在する光透過層を更に含む請求項1に記載の半導体発光装置。
- 前記光透過層の屈折率が、前記半導体発光素子における光取り出し側の主面を構成する材料の屈折率より低く、かつ前記蛍光体層の前記バインダーの屈折率より高い請求項7に記載の半導体発光装置。
- 前記光透過層は、母材と前記母材に分散された無機粒子とを含み、
前記無機粒子は、前記母材を透過する光の波長の4分の1以下の実効粒径を有し、かつ前記母材よりも屈折率が大きい請求項7に記載の半導体発光装置。 - 前記外層と前記蛍光体層とが、前記バインダーによって接着されている請求項1に記載の半導体発光装置。
- 前記外層は、分散媒体を更に含み、
前記多孔質材は、前記分散媒体に分散されている請求項1に記載の半導体発光装置。 - 前記蛍光体層が充填された凹部を有するケースを更に含み、
前記外層は、前記凹部の開口を覆うようにして配置されている請求項1に記載の半導体発光装置。 - 前記外層は、板状である請求項12に記載の半導体発光装置。
