Abstract
Description
図1はリチウム二次電池100の外観を示す斜視図であり、図2は図1のリチウム二次電池100の内部構成を示す分解斜視図である。
正極電極34の正極合剤は、正極活物質としてマンガン酸リチウム(化学式LiMn2O4)100重量部に対し、導電材として10重量部の鱗片状黒鉛と結着剤として10重量部のPVDFとを添加し、これに分散溶媒としてNMPを添加、混練して作製される。この正極合剤を厚さ20μmのアルミニウム箔(正極箔34a)の両面に溶接部(正極箔露出部34c)を残して塗布した。その後、乾燥、プレス、裁断工程を経て、正極箔を含まない正極合剤層塗布部の厚さが90μmの正極電極34を得た。
(1)リチウム二次電池100において、
負極合剤層32bは、第1負極合剤層32dと、第1負極合剤層32dと隣接する第2負極合剤層32eと、を有する。
第2負極合剤層32eのリチウムイオン挿入による膨張率は、第1負極合剤層32dの膨張率よりも大きい。
正極合剤層34bは、第1負極合剤層32dの一部と対向し、第2負極合剤層32eと対向しない。
第1負極合剤層32dは、正極合剤層34bと対向する中央部と、正極合剤層34bと対向しない端部と、を有する。
第2負極合剤層32eは、上記の第1負極合剤層32dの端部と隣接することで、第1負極合剤層32dと隣接する。
上記の第1負極合剤層32dの端部は、第1負極合剤層32dの厚み方向において負極箔32aから離れるほど第1負極合剤層32dの幅が小さくなるように傾斜部を有している。第2負極合剤層32eは、第1負極合剤層32dの端部を所定厚みで覆う。
上記構成(3)により、第2負極合剤層32eが膨張しても上記の(1B)よりも確実に正極合剤層34bの端部を押し付けることが無い構成となるので、正極合剤層34bの端部の密度に影響を与えることが無く、リチウムイオン電池の信頼性を確保できる。
上記構成(4)により、第1負極合剤層32dの幅方向端部(捲回軸方向の端部)付近で、上記効果(2A)、(2B)を奏することができる。

Claims (5)
- 正極箔上に正極合剤層が形成された正極電極と、
負極箔上に負極合剤層が形成された負極電極と、を少なくとも備え、
前記正極電極と前記負極電極とは、互いに対向し、
前記負極合剤層は、第1負極合剤層と、前記第1負極合剤層と隣接する第2負極合剤層と、を有し、
前記第2負極合剤層のリチウムイオン挿入による膨張率は、前記第1負極合剤層の前記膨張率よりも大きく、
前記正極合剤層は、前記第1負極合剤層の一部と対向し、前記第2負極合剤層と対向せず、
前記第1負極合剤層は、前記正極合剤層と対向する中央部と、前記正極合剤層と対向しない端部と、を有し、
前記第2負極合剤層は、前記端部の少なくとも一部と隣接することで、前記第1負極合剤層と隣接する、リチウム二次電池。 - 請求項1に記載のリチウム二次電池において、
前記第1負極合剤層の前記端部は、前記第1負極合剤層の厚み方向において前記負極箔から離れるほど前記第1負極合剤層の幅が小さくなる傾斜部を有し、
前記第2負極合剤層は、前記第1負極合剤層の前記傾斜部を所定厚みで覆う、リチウム二次電池。 - 請求項1または2に記載のリチウム二次電池において、
前記正極電極と前記負極電極とは、セパレータを介して互いに対向し、
前記正極合剤層は、前記第1負極合剤層が前記セパレータと接する端の位置よりも電極の内側に位置する、リチウム二次電池。 - 請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載のリチウム二次電池において、
前記正極電極及び前記負極電極を少なくとも含む電極捲回群をさらに備え、
前記第2負極合剤層は、前記電極捲回群において、捲回軸方向の前記傾斜部に隣接する、リチウム二次電池。 - 請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載のリチウム二次電池において、
前記正極電極及び前記負極電極を少なくとも含む電極捲回群をさらに備え、
前記第2負極合剤層は、前記電極捲回群において、捲回方向の前記傾斜部に隣接する、リチウム二次電池。
