Claims (19)
- 厚さおよび面積によって特徴付けられるX線放射の検出器であって、前記検出器は、
a.入射するX線放射のエネルギーを第1のシンチレーション光に変化するための第1の体積の第1のシンチレーション媒体と、
b.前記第1のシンチレーション光から、かつ前記第1のシンチレーション光の波長より長い第1の波長で導出された光を誘導するために、前記第1の体積の第1のシンチレーション媒体と連続する第1のシンチレーション光抽出領域にわたって、相互に実質的に平行に整合された第1の複数の波長シフト光学導波路と、
c.前記第1の体積を横断した入射するX線放射のエネルギーを第2のシンチレーション光に変化するための第2の体積の第2のシンチレーション媒体と、
d.前記第2のシンチレーション光から、かつ前記第2のシンチレーション光の波長より長い波長で導出された光を誘導するために、前記第2の体積の第2のシンチレーション媒体と連続する第2のシンチレーション光抽出領域にわたって、相互に実質的に平行に整合された第2の複数の波長シフト光学導波路と、
e.前記第1の複数の導波路によって誘導される光子を前記第1の波長で検出するため、および第1の検出器信号を発生させるための第1の光検出器と、
f.前記第2の複数の導波路によって誘導される光子を第2のより長い波長で検出するため、および第2の検出器信号を発生させるための第2の光検出器と
を備える、検出器。 - 規定された持続時間にわたって、前記検出器信号を積分するための積分回路をさらに備える、請求項1に記載の検出器。
- 前記シンチレーション媒体は、バリウムフルオロクロライドを含む、請求項1に記載の検出器。
- 前記光検出器は、光電子増倍管を含む、請求項1に記載の検出器。
- 前記検出器の厚さを横断する少なくとも1つの寸法における前記検出器の範囲は、24インチを超え、前記検出器の面積で除算した前記検出器の厚さの二乗は、0.001未満である、請求項1に記載の検出器。
- 前記複数の導波路のうちの少なくとも1つは、クラッディングを欠いており、前記シンチレーション媒体は、前記導波路を特徴付ける屈折率より低い値の屈折率によって特徴付けられる、請求項1に記載の検出器。
- 前記複数の光学導波路は、複数の平行平面に配置され、前記平行平面のそれぞれは、前記複数の光学導波路のサブセットを含有する、請求項1に記載の検出器。
- 連続的なシンチレータ媒体層は、入射ビームに対する固有のスペクトル感度によって特徴付けられる、請求項1に記載の検出器。
- 交互するシンチレータ層は、ファイバ結合BaFCl(Eu)およびファイバ結合BaFI(Eu)のうちの少なくとも1つと交互するLi6F:ZnS(Ag)を含む、請求項1に記載の検出器。
- 複数のシンチレータ媒体層の第1の層は、優先的に、より低いエネルギーのX線に敏感である波長シフトファイバ結合検出器であり、前記複数のシンチレータ媒体層の最後の層は、プラスチックシンチレータである、請求項1に記載の検出器。
- 入射ビームの伝搬方向に横断する平面に配置された複数のシンチレータ媒体セグメントをさらに備える、請求項1に記載の検出器。
- 前記複数のシンチレータ媒体セグメントは、光ファイバを介して、光検出器に固有に結合されている、請求項11に記載の検出器。
- シンチレーション検出器を製造するための方法であって、前記方法は、光学導波路と、前記光学導波路の周囲に共押出成形されたシンチレーション材料のシェルとを押出成形することを含む、方法。
- 前記光学導波路は、波長シフト光ファイバである、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 散乱X線放射を検出するための方法であって、前記方法は、
a.複数の個々に読取装置を行なうセグメントによって特徴付けられる検出器を提供することと、
b.前記個々に読取装置を行なうセグメントのサブセットからの信号を加算することであって、前記サブセットは、一次照射ビームの既知の位置に基づいて選択される、ことと
を含む、方法。 - 装置であって、前記装置は、前記装置に入射する放射を検出し、前記装置は、
a.複数の実質的に平行な能動的コリメーションベーンであって、前記複数の実質的に平行な能動的コリメーションベーンは、少なくとも第1の検出信号を発生させるために、各ベーンの両側にX線放射に高感度な波長シフトファイバ結合シンチレーション検出器を備える、複数の実質的に平行な能動的コリメーションベーンと、
b.前記複数の能動的コリメータベーンの実質的に平行な能動的コリメーションベーン間を通過する放射を検出し、第2の検出信号を発生させるための後方の広面積検出器と、
c.第1および第2の検出信号を受信および処理するためのプロセッサと
を備える、装置。 - 検査される車両の下側を検査するためのX線検査システムであって、前記X線検査システムは、
a.前記検査される車両の真下に操作されるように適応されたシャーシと、
b.前記シャーシに結合された実質的に上向きに指向するX線源と、
c.前記検査される車両によって、および前記検査される車両の下または内に隠された物体によって、散乱されるX線を検出するために、前記シャーシ上に配置された波長シフトファイバ結合シンチレータ検出器と
を備える、X線検査システム。 - 前記シャーシは、モータおよび手動制御のうちの少なくとも1つによって、前記車両下で操作されるように適応されている、請求項17に記載のX線検査システム。
- 前記第1の体積の第1のシンチレーション媒体と前記第2の体積の第2のシンチレーション媒体との間に配置された受動的吸収体をさらに備える、請求項8に記載の検出器。
