Abstract
Description
図1は、本発明の接合方法の実施の形態1を説明した縦断面図であり、図1(a)はその積層工程を説明した図であり、図1(b)および図1(c)はその軟化溶融・導入工程を説明した図であり、図1(d)はその硬化工程を説明した図である。
本発明の実施の形態1に係る接合方法は、ヒータを有する接合装置を用いて実施される。この接合装置30は、図1(a)に示すように、主に、ヒータ31、クランプ部材34、図1(a)には示されていないが、これらを支持する支持部材等を備えている。クランプ部材34は、たとえば中空を有する筒形状(たとえば、略円筒形状)を呈し、その中空内に加熱手段としてのヒータ31が内挿されている。このクランプ部材34は、加工材(第2部材2)を一方面(図1(a)中では上面)から押圧するように、例えば不図示のスプリングを介して不図示の支持部材に支持されている。
次に、本実施の形態1に係る接合装置30を用いた接合方法について、図1を参照して概説する。この実施の形態1では、一方面(図1中では上面)1aに開口する略凹状の孔3を有する金属部材、樹脂部材、木材などからなる略平板状の第1部材1と、第1部材1の形成素材よりも溶融温度の低い素材を含む金属部材や樹脂部材などからなる略平板状の第2部材2と、を接合する方法について具体的に説明する。
図2は、本発明の接合方法の実施の形態2を説明した縦断面図であり、図2(a)はその積層工程を説明した図であり、図2(b)および図2(c)はその軟化溶融・導入工程を説明した図であり、図2(d)はその硬化工程を説明した図である。
本発明の実施の形態2に係る接合方法は、摩擦撹拌接合装置の一例としての単動式摩擦撹拌接合装置を用いて実施される。そのため、まず、本実施の形態2に係る接合方法で用いられる単動式摩擦撹拌接合装置(FSW:Friction Stir Welding)の一例について、図2(a)を参照して概説する。
次に、本実施の形態2に係るFSW装置40を用いた接合方法について、図2を参照して概説する。この実施の形態2では、上記した実施の形態1と同様の第1部材1と第2部材2とを接合する方法について具体的に説明する。
図3は、本発明の接合方法の実施の形態3を説明した縦断面図であり、図3(a)はその積層工程を説明した図であり、図3(b)はその軟化溶融工程を説明した図であり、図3(c)はその導入工程を説明した図であり、図3(d)はその硬化工程を説明した図である。
本発明の実施の形態3に係る接合方法は、摩擦攪拌接合装置の代表的な一例としての複動式摩擦攪拌接合装置を用いて実施される。そのため、まず、本実施の形態3に係る接合方法で用いられる複動式摩擦攪拌接合(FSW:Friction Stir Welding)装置の代表的な一例について、図3(a)を参照して概説する。
次に、本実施の形態3に係るFSW装置50を用いた接合方法について、図3を参照して概説する。この実施の形態3では、上記した実施の形態1、2と同様の第1部材1と第2部材2とを接合する方法について具体的に説明する。
図7は、本発明の接合方法の実施の形態4を説明した縦断面図であり、図7(a)はその積層工程を説明した図であり、図7(b)はその軟化溶融工程を説明した図であり、図7(c)はその導入工程を説明した図であり、図7(d)はその硬化工程を説明した図である。なお、本実施の形態4に係る接合方法は、上記した実施の形態3に係る接合方法で用いられたFSW装置50を用いて実施される。この実施の形態4では、一方面(図7中では上面)1aAから他方面(図7中では下面)1bAに向かって形成された孔(貫通孔)3Aを有する金属部材、樹脂部材、木材などからなる略平板状の第1部材1Aと、第1部材1Aの形成素材よりも溶融温度の低い素材を含む金属部材や樹脂部材などからなる略平板状の第2部材2Aと、を接合する方法について具体的に説明する。
図11は、本発明の接合方法の実施の形態5を説明した縦断面図であり、図11(a)はその積層工程を説明した図であり、図11(b)はその軟化溶融工程を説明した図であり、図11(c)はその導入工程を説明した図であり、図11(d)はその硬化工程を説明した図である。なお、本実施の形態5に係る接合方法は、上記した実施の形態3、4に係る接合方法で用いられたFSW装置50を用いて実施される。この実施の形態5では、一方面(図11中では上面)1aBから他方面(図11中では下面)1bBに向かって形成された直線状の孔(貫通孔)3Bを有する金属部材、樹脂部材、木材などからなる略平板状の第1部材1Bと、第1部材1Bの形成素材よりも溶融温度の低い素材を含む金属部材や樹脂部材などからなる略平板状の第2部材2Bと、を接合する方法について具体的に説明する。
上記した実施の形態1〜5では、略平板状の第1部材と第2部材とを接合する形態について説明したが、接合対象となる各部材の形状は適宜に設定することができる。ただし、上記した実施の形態1〜5のように平板状の第2部材を使用すると、導入工程において、第2部材の一部が第1部材の孔等に導入されるため、軟化もしくは溶融された第2部材の形成素材を硬化させて第1部材と第2部材とを接合した際に、第2部材の一部でその厚みが減少する。そこで、第2部材が、予め第1部材の孔等に導入される部分に対応する量の材料を余分に含んでいれば、第1部材と第2部材とを接合した際の第2部材の厚みの減少を抑制できると考えられる。

- 少なくとも一方面に開口する孔を有する第1部材と、該第1部材の形成素材よりも溶融温度の低い素材を含む第2部材と、を接合する接合方法であって、
前記孔の開口部を覆うように前記第1部材上に前記第2部材を積層させる積層工程と、
軟化もしくは溶融させた前記第2部材の前記素材を前記開口部を介して前記孔に導入して硬化させる接合工程と、を含む接合方法。 - 前記接合工程は、前記第2部材の前記素材を軟化もしくは溶融させる軟化溶融工程と、軟化もしくは溶融された前記素材を前記開口部を介して前記孔に導入する導入工程と、前記孔に導入された前記素材を硬化させる硬化工程とを含む、請求項1に記載の接合方法。
- 前記第2部材は、前記第1部材の形成素材よりも溶融温度の低い樹脂内に繊維材が混合されてなる繊維強化樹脂部材からなる、請求項1または2に記載の接合方法。
- 前記第1部材の前記孔は、前記開口部に向かって連続的もしくは段階的に縮径する縮径部を有している、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載の接合方法。
- 前記第1部材の前記孔の積層方向に直交する方向で切断した際の断面積が、前記開口部において最小となっている、請求項4に記載の接合方法。
- 前記第1部材の前記孔は、前記一方面から該一方面に対向する他方面まで貫通して形成されている、請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の接合方法。
- 少なくとも前記接合工程において、前記孔の前記他方面側の開口部を覆う裏当て部材を配設する、請求項6に記載の接合方法。
- 前記裏当て部材は、前記孔の前記他方面側の開口部を介して前記孔と連通すると共に、前記他方面側の開口部よりも積層方向に直交する方向で切断した際の断面積が大きい窪みを有しており、
前記接合工程において、前記孔と共に前記窪みに前記第2部材の前記素材を導入して硬化させる、請求項7に記載の接合方法。 - 前記接合工程において、摩擦熱を利用して前記第2部材の前記素材を軟化もしくは溶融させる、請求項1から8のいずれか一項に記載の接合方法。
