Abstract
Description
本発明者らは、反りによる光漏れ現象を改善するにあたって、高分子量共重合体に可塑剤または低分子量体を添加するか、または架橋構造を調節し、粘着剤の応力緩和機能を付与するが、残留応力によって複屈折の差異が生じ、相変らず光漏れが発生する従来技術の短所を解決するために、アクリル系共重合体を構成する(メタ)アクリル酸エステル系単量体及び芳香族基含有単量体の含量を複屈折の差異がほとんどない組成に特定しながら、架橋性官能基含有高分子量体共重合体(A)及び架橋性官能基を有しない高分子量体共重合体(B)の混合割合を1:9乃至5:5で使用し、耐久信頼性に優れていて、且つ反りによる光漏れ現象を低減することができることを確認し、本発明を完成した。
アクリル系共重合体は、この技術分野において通常粘着剤として使用されるものなら特に限定されないが、架橋性官能基含有単量体を含む架橋性アクリル系共重合体(A)及び非架橋性アクリル系共重合体(B)の混合割合が1:9乃至5:5であり、上記アクリル系共重合体(A)及び(B)は、各々(メタ)アクリル酸エステル系単量体75乃至97重量部と、芳香族基含有単量体3乃至25重量部とを含むことが好ましい。
R2は、炭素数1〜12のアルキレン基を示し、
nは、0〜3の整数を示し、
Xは、単一結合、酸素、硫黄または炭素数1〜4のアルキレン基を示し、
Arは、ハロゲン、または炭素数1〜12のアルキルで置換されるか、または非置換された芳香族基を示す。
R4は、シアノ;アルキルで置換または非置換されたフェニル;アセチルオキシ;またはCOR5を示し、ここで、R5は、炭素数1〜4のアルキルまたはアルコキシで置換または非置換されたアミノまたはグリシジルオキシを示す。
上記のような成分よりなる本発明の粘着剤組成物は、必要に応じて多官能性架橋剤をさらに使用することができる。上記多官能性架橋剤は、アクリル系共重合体の官能基と反応し、接着剤の凝集力を高める作用をする。
上記のような成分よりなる本発明の粘着剤組成物は、必要に応じてシラン系カップリング剤または粘着性付与樹脂をさらに使用することができる。
窒素ガスが還流され、温度調節が容易になるように冷却装置を設置した1Lの反応器にn−ブチルアクリレート(BA)82.5重量部、メチルアクリレート(MA)5重量部、フェノキシエチルアクリレート(PhEA)10.5重量部、ヒドロキシエチルメタアクリレート(2−HEMA)2.0重量部よりなる単量体混合物を投入した後、溶剤としてエチルアセテート(EAc)100重量部を投入した。次に、酸素を除去するために窒素ガスを1時間パージングした後、62℃に維持した。上記混合物を均一にした後、反応開始剤としてエチルアセテートに50%濃度に希釈させたアゾビスイソブチロニトリル(AIBN)0.03重量部を投入し、8時間反応させて、アクリル系共重合体を製造した。
上記アクリル系共重合体A−1製造において表1に示されたような成分と組成比で使用したことを除いてアクリル共重合体A−1の製造と同様の方法で行った。この際、表1の単位は、重量部である
(配合過程)
上記で製造したアクリル系共重合体A−125重量部とアクリル系共重合体B−175重量部を均一に混合した後、架橋剤としてイソシアネート系トリメチロールプロパンのトリレンジイソシアネート付加物(TDI−1)0.2重量部を投入し、適正の濃度に希釈して均一に混合した後、離型紙にコーティングして乾燥した後、25μmの均一な粘着層を製造した。
上記で製造された粘着層を偏光板に粘着加工した。得られた偏光板を適切な大きさに切断し、評価に使用し、上記粘着剤が適用された偏光板について以下の評価を行った結果を表2に示した。
上記で製造した偏光板を利用して下記の方法で耐久信頼性、光漏れを測定し、その結果を表2に示した。
上記実施例1で製造された粘着剤がコーティングされた偏光板(90mm×170mm)をガラス基板(110mm×190mm×0.7mm)に両面に光学吸収軸がクロスされた状態で付着させた。この際、加えられた圧力は、約5kg/cm2であって、気泡や異物が生じないようにクリーンルーム作業を行った。この試片を耐湿熱特性を把握するために60℃の温度及び90%の相対湿度条件の下で1000時間放置した後、気泡や剥離の発生可否を観察した。耐熱特性は、80℃の温度で1000時間放置した後、気泡や剥離の発生可否を観察した。試片の状態を評価する直前に常温で24時間放置した後に行った。信頼性に対する評価基準は、次の通りである。
○:気泡や剥離現象なし
△:気泡や剥離現象が若干発生
×:気泡や剥離現象が多量発生
上記と同一の試片を使用して光透過度の均一性を調査するために、バックライトを利用して暗室で光が漏れる部分があるか否かを観察した。光透過均一性の試験を行う方法としては、粘着コーティングされた延伸方向が0゜の上部偏光板(400mm×200mm)と粘着コーティングされた延伸方向が90゜の下部偏光板(400mm×200mm)をガラス基板(410mm×210mm×0.7mm)に光軸を交差して両面に付着した。この試片は、60℃、500時間または40℃、70%R.H、500時間放置後、常温に取り出して、上部偏光板を上方にして光漏れを観察し(応力による光漏れ)、試料の四面を押した後(液晶パネルのトップケースと同様に)観察する方法(反りによる光漏れ)を採択した。光透過性の均一性は、次のような基準により評価した。
○:光透過性のばらつき現象を目視で判断しがたい
△:光透過性のばらつき現象が若干ある
×:光透過性のばらつき現象が多量ある
表2のような粘着層を使用したことを除いて上記実施例1と同様の方法で行った。また、製造した偏光板を利用して粘着剤の耐久信頼性、応力により光漏れ及び反りによる光漏れを測定し、その結果を表2に示した。
Claims (20)
- 架橋性官能基含有単量体を含む架橋性アクリル系共重合体(A);及び非架橋性アクリル系共重合体(B)が1:9乃至5:5の混合割合で混合されたアクリル系共重合体を含み、
前記上記共重合体(A)及び(B)は、各々(メタ)アクリル酸エステル系単量体75乃至97重量部と、芳香族基含有単量体3乃至25重量部とを含む、粘着剤組成物。 - 前記アクリル系共重合体(A)及び(B)は、各々重量平均分子量が100万以上である、請求項1に記載の粘着剤組成物。
- 前記(メタ)アクリル酸エステル系単量体が、メチル(メタ)アクリレート、エチル(メタ)アクリレート、n−プロピル(メタ)アクリレート、イソプロピル(メタ)アクリレート、t−ブチル(メタ)アクリレート、n−ブチル(メタ)アクリレート、sec−ブチル(メタ)アクリレート、ペンチル(メタ)アクリレート、2−エチルヘキシル(メタ)アクリレート、n−オクチル(メタ)アクリレート、イソオクチル(メタ)アクリレート、イソノニル(メタ)アクリレート及びラウリル(メタ)アクリレートよりなる群から選択された1つ以上である、請求項1に記載の粘着剤組成物。
- 前記芳香族基含有単量体が、フェノキシエチル(メタ)アクリレート、ベンジル(メタ)アクリレート、2−フェニルチオ−1−エチルアクリレート、8−(2−ナフチルオキシ)−1−オクチルアクリレート及び2−(1−ナフチルオキシ)−1−エチルアクリレートよりなる群から選択された1つ以上である、請求項4に記載の粘着剤組成物。
- 前記架橋性官能基含有単量体が、ヒドロキシ基含有単量体、カルボキシル基含有単量体及びその無水物よりなる群から選択された1つ以上である、請求項1に記載の粘着剤組成物。
- 前記架橋性官能基含有単量体が、2−ヒドロキシエチル(メタ)アクリレート、3−ヒドロキシプロピル(メタ)アクリレート、4−ヒドロキシブチル(メタ)アクリレート、2−ヒドロキシエチレングリコール(メタ)アクリレート、3−ヒドロキシプロピレングリコール(メタ)アクリレート、アクリル酸、メタクリル酸、アクリル酸ダイマー、イタコン酸、マレイン酸及びマレイン酸無水物よりなる群から選択された1つ以上である、請求項1に記載の粘着剤組成物。
- 前記架橋性官能基含有単量体が、アクリル系共重合体(A)100重量部に対して0.1乃至10重量部で含まれる、請求項1に記載の粘着剤組成物。
- 前記機能性単量体が、アクリロニトリル、(メタ)アクリルアミド、N−メチルアクリルアミド、スチレン、メチルスチレン、グリシジル(メタ)アクリレート及びビニルアセテートよりなる群から選択された1つ以上である、請求項9に記載の粘着剤組成物。
- アクリル系共重合体100重量部に対して0.01乃至10重量部の多官能性架橋剤をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の粘着剤組成物。
- 多官能性架橋剤が、イソシアネート系化合物、エポキシ系化合物、アジリジン系化合物及び金属キレート系化合物よりなる群から選択された1つ以上である、請求項11に記載の粘着剤組成物。
- アクリル系共重合体100重量部に対して0.005乃至5重量部のシランカップリング剤をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の粘着剤組成物。
- アクリル系共重合体100重量部に対して1乃至100重量部の粘着性付与樹脂をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の粘着剤組成物。
- 前記粘着性付与樹脂が、(水添)ヒドロカーボン系樹脂、(水添)ロジン樹脂、(水添)ロジンエステル樹脂、(水添)テルペン樹脂、(水添)テルペンフェノール樹脂、重合ロジン樹脂及び重合ロジンエステル樹脂よりなる群から選択された1つ以上である請求項14に記載の粘着剤組成物。
- アクリル系低分子量体、エポキシ樹脂、硬化剤、紫外線安定剤、酸化防止剤、展色剤、補強剤、充填剤、消泡剤、界面活性剤及び可塑剤よりなる群から選択された1つ以上をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の粘着剤組成物。
- 偏光フィルムと、
上記フィルムの一面または両面に形成され、請求項1乃至16のいずれかに記載の粘着剤組成物を含有する粘着層と、
を含む偏光板。 - 偏光フィルムの両面に形成される保護フィルムをさらに含み、
上記保護フィルムが、セルロース系フィルム、ポリエステル系フィルム、ポリエーテルスルホン系フィルム及びポリオレフイン系フィルムよりなる群から選択された1つ以上である、請求項17に記載の偏光板。 - 保護層、反射層、防幻層、位相差板、広視野角補償フィルム及び輝度向上フィルムよりなる群から選択された1つ以上の機能性層をさらに含む、請求項17に記載の偏光板。
- 液晶セルと、上記液晶セルの一面または両面に接合された請求項17に記載の偏光板とを含む液晶パネルを備える液晶表示装置。
