Abstract
【解決手段】ここに示す発明は、電池セルが正常でない動作又は劣化により膨張するときに電流を発生させるように、可変的に固定する構造により形成されている上下動部材を用いて圧電素子を押圧することができ、また、発生した電流によって、保護回路を用いて電池の動作を制御することができ、これによって、電池の安全性を確保することができる、二次電池用の安全装置に関する。加えて、電池セルを有する電池パックにおいて、機械強度が低く変形しやすい電池セルが安全装置を有する枠部材の中に設けられており、これによって、電池の安全性が改善され、そして組み立て効率が改善されている電池パックに関する。

Claims (9)
- 電気的に保護回路に接続され、加圧されたときに電流を発生させるための素子(圧電素子)と、
平板状の電池セルの両側表面のうちの1つと接触している一端(a)と、圧電素子の表面の表面と接触している他端(b)とを有する部材(上下動部材)と、を備え、
上下動部材は所定の部分に可動的に固定されており、それによって、一端(a)が電池セルの膨張により持ち上げられたとき、他端(b)が下げられて圧電素子を押圧することを特徴とする二次電池用の安全装置。 - 圧電素子と上下動部材とが、電池セルが設けられている枠部材に取付けられていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の安全装置。
- 上下動部材がヒンジ構造により枠部材に取付けられていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の安全装置。
- くぼみが枠部材の上端の中央部に備えられており、圧電素子がそのくぼみの中に取付けられ、そして上下動部材の一端(a)側領域がそのくぼみに挿入され取付けられていることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の安全装置。
- 上下動部材が細長い板状に形成されており、上下動部材の他端(b)が電池セルの中央部またはその近傍まで届く長さを有していることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の安全装置。
- 請求項1乃至請求項5のいずれかに記載の安全装置を含む電池パック。
- 電池パックはさらに、金属層と樹脂層とを含むラミネートシートからなる電池ケースと、電池ケースに取り付けられた電極組立体とを有する電池セルを備え、電池ケースの中に安全装置が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の電池パック。
- アルミニウムのラミネートシートからなる、折りたたみ式のポーチ型のケースの中に電極組立体を載置し、ポーチ型のケースの上端と向かい合う側面とを熱的に溶接し、これによってケースを封止することで電池セルが製造されることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の電池パック。
- 電池セルは、枠部材の中に設けられ、
枠部材は、その上部と下部とが開口した格子構造に形成されており、これによって、側面の封止部が鉛直方向に沿って上方に曲げられている電池セルを枠部材の中に設けることができ、
枠部材の後部の上端には、電池セルの電極端子が配置されているくぼみが形成されており、
枠部材の前部の上端には、圧電素子が取り付けられ、上下動部材がヒンジ構造により接続されているくぼみが形成されていることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の電池パック。
