Claims (13)
- (a)横方向に配置された2つ以上の電池セルであって、そのそれぞれが、電池ケース内に設置されたカソード/セパレータ/アノード構造の電極集合体を電解質と共に密封状態で有する電池セル、を備える電池セルアレイと、
(b)抵抗溶接によって前記電池セルの電極端子に接続される接続端子と、前記電池セルを互いに電気的に接続するための金属プレートと、電池パックの動作を制御するための保護回路とを備える保護回路モジュール(PCM)であって、前記電池セルアレイの前記電極端子に接続されるPCMと、
(c)前記電池セルアレイおよび前記保護回路モジュールが設置されるパックケースと、
を備えており、前記電池セルのカソード端子と前記保護回路モジュールとの間の電気接続領域が、前記保護回路モジュールの前記各接続端子の上面に取り付けられた導電性プレートが前記電池セルの前記各カソード端子を取り囲むよう溶接される構造を有するよう構成される、電池パックにおいて、
前記パックケースが、前記電池セルアレイおよび前記保護回路モジュールが適所で固定されるように、前記電池セルアレイおよび前記保護回路モジュールが設置される下部ケースと、前記下部ケースを覆うための上部ケースとを備え、
前記下部ケースが、前記電池セルが配置される電池セル設置部と、前記保護回路モジュールが配置される保護回路モジュール設置部とに区分けされ、
前記電池セル設置部と前記保護回路モジュール設置部との間の境界において隔壁が形成され、前記電池セルの電極端子が前記保護回路モジュールに向かって露出する開口部が、前記電池セルの前記電極端子と前記保護回路モジュールとの間の電気接続領域に対応する前記隔壁の一部において形成され、前記隔壁が前記電池セル設置部および前記保護回路モジュールを互いに隔離させる高さを有し、
前記保護回路モジュール設置部が、抵抗溶接中に前記電池セルの前記電極端子の上に置かれる溶接チップにより加えられる圧力を支持するように、前記電池セルの前記電極端子と前記保護回路モジュールとの間の前記電気接続領域を支持するための支持部を備え、前記支持部が、前記電極端子の位置に向かう十字突出形状で前記下部ケース上に形成される、電池パック。 - 前記電池セルアレイが3つの電池セルを備える、請求項1に記載の電池パック。
- 前記電池セルが互いに電気的に直列および/または並列に接続される、請求項1に記載の電池パック。
- 前記導電性プレートが、曲げられることができるように前記保護回路モジュールの前記接続端子に取り付けられ、前記電池セルの前記カソード端子が前記導電性プレート上に設置された状態で前記導電性プレートがブラケット形(bracket shape)に曲げられ、抵抗溶接が前記導電性プレートの屈曲部の上から行われる、請求項1に記載の電池パック。
- 各前記導電性プレートが、前記保護回路モジュールの前記接続端子の対応する一つの前記上面に取り付けられる第1の接続部と、前記電池セルの対応する一つの前記カソード端子の上面に取り付けられる第2の接続部とを備える、請求項1に記載の電池パック。
- 各前記導電性プレートがニッケルプレートであり、前記電池セルの各前記カソード端子がアルミニウム端子である、請求項1に記載の電池パック。
- 各前記電池セルがポーチ型二次電池である、請求項1に記載の電池パック。
- 電流を前記電池パックに入力し、電流を前記電池パックから出力し、そして情報を前記電池パックに送信および前記電池パックから受信するための外部入出力端子が、前記電極端子が位置する方向における前記保護回路モジュールの前部に凹形状に設置される、請求項1に記載の電池パック。
- 前記外部入出力端子がコネクタである、請求項8に記載の電池パック。
- 前記電池セルを互いに電気的に接続するための金属線が、前記保護回路モジュールの上面に形成される、請求項1に記載の電池パック。
- 前記保護回路モジュール設置部に、電流を前記電池パックに入力し、電流を前記電池パックから出力し、情報を前記電池パックに送信および前記電池パックから受信するための外部入出力端子が設置される外部入出力端子設置部が備えられている、請求項1に記載の電池パック。
- 外部入出力端子開口部が、前記外部入出力端子がその上に露出できるように、前記外部入出力端子に対応する大きさで、前記電極端子が位置する方向における前記上部ケースの前部に部分的に形成される、請求項11に記載の電池パック。
- 請求項1に記載の電池パックを電源として備えるラップトップコンピュータ。
