Abstract
【解決手段】ガソリンとエタノールとの混合燃料を、分離器40で、高濃度エタノールと、高濃度ガソリンとに分離する。分岐管30により取り出された排気ガス中に、改質用燃料供給装置32により、高濃度エタノールを改質用燃料として供給する。高濃度エタノールと排気ガスとは、熱交換器24内の改質室26に担持された燃料改質触媒の作用により、改質反応を起こし、H2およびCOを含む改質ガスが生成する。この改質ガスが改質ガス導管34を通って、内燃機関10の吸気管12内に供給される。また、分離された高濃度エタノールと高濃度ガソリンとは、混合器44で再度混合され、燃料噴射装置18により、内燃機関10に供給される。

Description
排気ガスと熱交換可能に設けられた燃料改質触媒と、
前記混合燃料を、アルコール濃度を高めた高濃度アルコールと、ガソリン濃度を高めた高濃度ガソリンとに分離する分離手段と、
前記高濃度アルコールと排気ガスの一部とを前記燃料改質触媒に供給する改質用燃料供給手段と、
前記燃料改質触媒に供給された前記高濃度アルコールと排気ガスとが改質反応してなる改質ガスを前記内燃機関の吸気に供給する改質ガス供給手段と、
を備えることを特徴とする。
前記高濃度ガソリンと、前記高濃度アルコールとを前記内燃機関で燃焼させるために前記内燃機関に供給する燃料供給手段と、
前記内燃機関への前記高濃度ガソリンと前記高濃度アルコールとの供給比率を前記内燃機関の運転状態および/または環境条件に応じて制御する供給比率制御手段と、
を更に備えることを特徴とする。
外気温または機関代表温度を検出する温度検出手段を更に備え、
前記供給比率制御手段は、機関始動時に、外気温または機関代表温度が所定値より低い場合には、そうでない場合に比して、前記高濃度ガソリンの供給比率を高くして前記高濃度アルコールの供給比率を低くすることを特徴とする。
前記供給比率制御手段は、暖機完了後の通常運転時には、暖機完了前に比して、前記高濃度アルコールの供給比率を高くして前記高濃度ガソリンの供給比率を低くすることを特徴とする。
前記燃料供給手段は、
前記高濃度ガソリンと前記高濃度アルコールとを混合する混合手段と、
前記混合手段により混合された再混合燃料を前記内燃機関に供給する再混合燃料供給手段と、
を含むことを特徴とする。
[システム構成の説明]
図1は、本発明の実施の形態1のシステム構成を説明するための図である。図1に示すように、本実施形態のシステムは、内燃機関10を備えている。本システムは、以下に説明するように、エタノールとガソリンとを混合した燃料の給油を受けて、内燃機関10を運転することができる。内燃機関10で使用する混合燃料のエタノール割合は特に限定されないが、例えばエタノール割合が5〜85質量%(E5〜E85)程度の混合燃料を好適に使用することができる。
(1)分離膜により分離する方法。
(2)混合燃料を加熱し、沸点の違いを利用して分離する方法(分留)。
(3)混合燃料に水を加え、水との親和性の高いエタノールを水相に移行させることによって分離する方法。

Claims (5)
- アルコールとガソリンとの混合燃料によって運転可能な内燃機関であって、
排気ガスと熱交換可能に設けられた燃料改質触媒と、
前記混合燃料を、アルコール濃度を高めた高濃度アルコールと、ガソリン濃度を高めた高濃度ガソリンとに分離する分離手段と、
前記高濃度アルコールと排気ガスの一部とを前記燃料改質触媒に供給する改質用燃料供給手段と、
前記燃料改質触媒に供給された前記高濃度アルコールと排気ガスとが改質反応してなる改質ガスを前記内燃機関の吸気に供給する改質ガス供給手段と、
を備えることを特徴とする内燃機関。 - 前記高濃度ガソリンと、前記高濃度アルコールとを前記内燃機関で燃焼させるために前記内燃機関に供給する燃料供給手段と、
前記内燃機関への前記高濃度ガソリンと前記高濃度アルコールとの供給比率を前記内燃機関の運転状態および/または環境条件に応じて制御する供給比率制御手段と、
を更に備えることを特徴とする請求項1記載の内燃機関。 - 外気温または機関代表温度を検出する温度検出手段を更に備え、
前記供給比率制御手段は、機関始動時に、外気温または機関代表温度が所定値より低い場合には、そうでない場合に比して、前記高濃度ガソリンの供給比率を高くして前記高濃度アルコールの供給比率を低くすることを特徴とする請求項2記載の内燃機関。 - 前記供給比率制御手段は、暖機完了後の通常運転時には、暖機完了前に比して、前記高濃度アルコールの供給比率を高くして前記高濃度ガソリンの供給比率を低くすることを特徴とする請求項2または3記載の内燃機関。
- 前記燃料供給手段は、
前記高濃度ガソリンと前記高濃度アルコールとを混合する混合手段と、
前記混合手段により混合された再混合燃料を前記内燃機関に供給する再混合燃料供給手段と、
を含むことを特徴とする請求項2乃至4の何れか1項記載の内燃機関。
