Abstract
本発明は微生物学的遮断が強化された濾過助剤を含有するプレコートまたはボディーフィード組成物に関する。好ましくは、微生物学的遮断が強化された濾過助剤はその表面の少なくとも一部が微生物学的遮断強化剤で被覆されたフィブリル化リヨセルナノ繊維からなる。微生物学的遮断強化剤は生物学的に活性な金属と組合せたカチオン性物質からなる。バクテリア遮断において微生物学的遮断が強化された濾過助剤を単独で、または未処理バルク濾過助剤と組合せて使用した場合に少なくとも約4の対数減少が達成される。微生物学的遮断が強化された濾過助剤を含有するプレコート組成物は飲料を単一工程で冷滅菌するのに使用することができる。
Description
せ;流入液の汚染物をプレコート上に保持し;そして清澄な流出液を得ることによる流入液を濾過する方法に関する。
定義
次の単数または複数形態の用語は本明細書全体を通して次の意味を有する。
ロイドからマクロまでの大きさを有する固体を意味する。
本発明のプレコート組成物は適当な細孔構造および化学的処理の組合せを使用して微生物学的遮断機能を含む向上した濾過作用を示す微生物学的遮断が強化された濾過助剤を含有する。プレコート組成物の単独成分として使用される場合、それは微生物学的遮断が強化された濾過助剤は約2ミクロン未満の細孔径をもたらし、約1ミクロン未満になりうる。バルク濾過助剤と組合せて使用すると、微生物学的遮断が強化された濾過助剤は濾過性能を向上させ、フィルターの寿命を延長し、より強固な濾過ケークをもたらす。微生物学的遮断が強化された濾過助剤をバルク濾過助剤と混合すると、物質の細孔径および少なくとも一部の電荷はより小さい汚染物の遮断を可能にする。特殊な濾過の要求は微生物学的遮断が強化された濾過助剤をバルク濾過助剤と様々な量で混合することにより満たされる。微生物学的遮断が強化された濾過助剤物質はボディーフィード組成物として使用することもできる。
本発明のプレコート組成物は、その少なくとも一部がそれと会合したカウンターイオンを有するカチオン性物質で被覆され、生物学的に活性な金属が該カチオン性物質のすぐ近くで該カウンターイオンと一緒に沈殿されている微生物学的遮断が強化された濾過助剤からなる。好ましくは、微生物学的遮断が強化された濾過助剤は限定されないがポリマー、イオン交換樹脂、工業樹脂、セラミックス、セルロース、アスベスト、ガラス、金属、活性アルミナ、カーボンまたは活性炭、シリカ、ゼオライト、珪藻土、パーライト、活性ボ
ーキサイト、フラー土、カルシウムヒドロキシアパタイト、他の吸着性材料、またはこれらの組合せを含む有機および無機材料の多数のナノ繊維および/または粒子状成分からなる。有機および無機繊維および/またはホイスカーまたは粒子の組合せが本発明の範囲内で考えられ、例えばガラス、セラミック、金属繊維およびポリマー繊維を、プレコート組成物中に配合可能な非常に小さい粒子状吸着剤または粒子と一緒に使用することができる。
濾過助剤物質は濾過助剤物質の表面に正電荷を生じさせることができる微生物学的遮断強化剤で化学的に処理される。化学的処理は流動電位またはゼータ電位分析により測定される強い正電荷を処理表面に生じさせ、この正電荷は10より低い値のpHで維持される。カチオン性物質は帯電した小分子、あるいはそれと会合したカウンターイオンを有するポリマー鎖の長さに沿って正電荷の原子を有する直鎖状または分枝状ポリマーである。カチオン性物質は濾過助剤物質の少なくとも一部に吸着され、該カチオン性物質のすぐ近くで、さらに濾過助剤物質の少なくとも一部の上で生物学的に活性な金属がカウンターイオンと一緒に沈殿される。
測定される高い正電荷の表面を、微生物学的遮断が強化された濾過助剤に常に付与する。
ンが金属複合体の沈殿を促進する水性環境下で実質的に不溶性であるように選択される。好ましくは、金属は微生物学的遮断が強化された濾過助剤の約0.01重量%〜約2.0重量%の量で存在する。
本発明の微生物学的遮断が強化された濾過助剤の製造において有用な濾過助剤物質は、吹き付けコーチング、浸水コーチングなどの当業者に知られている方法に従って微生物学的遮断強化剤で処理することができる。微生物学的遮断強化剤で処理されたナノ繊維からなる微生物学的遮断が強化された濾過助剤を製造するための典型的な方法は下記で説明される。粒子状濾過助剤物質に対する同様の処理法は当業者に知られている。
流体中で微生物学的遮断が強化された濾過助剤を含有する分散液をセプタムまたはフィルタースクリーンのような支持材を通過させ、一般に約0.5〜約3ミリメートルの厚さを有するプレコートを支持材上に形成させる。支持材は濾過する流体の流速が大規模の製造工程で処理できない程に遅くならないような大きさおよび面積である。濾過する流体を濾過ケークに通過させ、粒子状の微生物学的汚染物を濾過ケークに捕捉する。微生物学的遮断が強化された濾過助剤を含有するボディーフィード組成物は濾過ケークを通して濾過する前の流体と混合することができる。ボディーフィード組成物の添加は濾過ケークの透過性を高め、濾過ケーク上に捕捉した汚染物の不浸透性膜形成を防止する。濾過が終了すると、濾過ケークはバックフラッシュされ、支持材からはがれ落ちる。使用済み濾過ケークはケークまたはスラリーとして捨てられる。
菌法が得られる。このような総合的な遮断が不必要である場合、所望レベルの遮断を達成するべく微生物学的遮断が強化された濾過助剤をプレコート組成物の約0.5重量%〜約50重量%の量で非帯電バルク濾過助剤と混合することができる。
次の実施例により本発明を詳しく説明するが、これらは本発明の範囲を制限するものではない。
インターナショナルファイバー社から入手できる、約0.63gの乾燥重量を有するアルファ−Cel BH−40セルロースパルプを使用して分析ロートのプレコートを形成した。蠕動ポンプを使用してRO/DI水にプレコートを通過させて31ml/分の流量とした。1.06×105の大腸菌を含有するバクテリア懸濁液でプレコートをチャレンジした。未処理セルロースパルプを含有するプレコートの対数減少値は約1未満であった。
350mlのRO/DI水中で乾燥重量0.03gの未処理フィブリル化リヨセル繊維と混合した乾燥重量0.60gのBH−40セルロースパルプを使用してプレコートを形成した。蠕動ポンプを使用してRO/DI水に約80ml/分の流量でプレコートを通過させた。1.06×105の大腸菌を含有するバクテリア懸濁液でプレコートをチャレンジした。プレコートの対数減少値は約1未満であった。
45のカナダ標準フリーネスを有し、乾燥重量が約11.4g(湿潤重量120.0g)のフィブリル化リヨセルナノ繊維を1.0LのRO/DI水中で30%水溶液としての3.0mlのMERQUAT(登録商標)100および0.27gの臭化ナトリウムと一緒に一晩分散させた。得られる帯電した繊維を100メッシュの成形ワイヤーを取付けた8インチの標準ブリットフィルターに注ぎ込み、過剰の水を真空下で除去してパルプシートを成形した。パルプシートを500mlのRO/DI水で洗浄した。
懸濁液でプレコートをチャレンジした。プレコートの対数減少値は約2.10であった。
45のカナダ標準フリーネスを有し、乾燥重量が約11.4g(湿潤重量120.0g)のフィブリル化リヨセルナノ繊維を1.0LのRO/DI水中で30%水溶液としての3.0mlのMERQUAT(登録商標)100および0.27gの臭化ナトリウムと一緒に一晩分散させた。得られる帯電した繊維を100メッシュの成形ワイヤーを取付けた8インチの標準ブリットジャーに注ぎ込み、過剰の水を真空下で除去してパルプシートを成形した。パルプシートを500mlのRO/DI水で洗浄した。60mlのRO/DI水を加えて3.0mlのストック溶液(1.8gのAgNO3、60mlのRO/DI水中)を希釈した希硝酸銀溶液をパルプシート全体に均一に注いで完全に暴露し、飽和させた。硝酸銀溶液をパルプシート上で少なくとも約15分間放置し、過剰の水を減圧下で除去して本発明の微生物学的遮断が強化された濾過助剤を得た。
蠕動ポンプを使用してRO/DI水に約28ml/分の流量で実施例4に記載のような乾燥重量0.63gの微生物学的遮断が強化された濾過助剤からなるプレコートを通過させた。1.0×104の大腸菌を含有するバクテリア懸濁液でプレコートをチャレンジした。微生物学的遮断が強化された濾過助剤の対数減少値は4.00であり、大腸菌の完全除去を示した。
の代替、変更および変形が当業者にとって自明であることは明らかである。したがって、添付した特許請求の範囲は本発明の範囲および精神の範囲に入るような代替、変更および変形を包含すると考えられる。
Claims (21)
- その少なくとも一部がそれと会合したカウンターイオンを有するカチオン性物質で被覆された濾過助剤を含有し、生物学的に活性な金属が該カチオン性物質のすぐ近傍で該カウンターイオンとで沈殿されている組成物。
- 濾過助剤は濾過前にセプタム上で濾過ケークを形成するために使用される請求項1記載の組成物。
- 濾過助剤はボディーフィード組成物として流入液に添加される請求項1記載の組成物。
- 濾過助剤は約45に等しいかまたはそれより小さいカナダ標準フリーネスを有する繊維からなる請求項1記載の組成物。
- 濾過助剤はナノ繊維、セルロース、珪藻土、活性炭、活性アルミナ、ケイ酸塩、ポリマー樹脂または繊維、またはこれらの組合せからなる請求項1記載の組成物。
- 濾過助剤は未処理の濾過助剤物質と混合されている請求項1記載の組成物。
- 吸着剤;
上記吸着剤と混合され、その少なくとも一部がそれと会合したカウンターイオンを有するカチオン性物質で被覆された濾過助剤を含有し、生物学的に活性な金属が該カチオン性物質のすぐ近傍で該カウンターイオンで沈殿されている組成物。 - カチオン性物質は高い電荷密度、約500ダルトンより大きい分子量を有し、第4級化アミン、第4級化アミド、第4級アンモニウム塩、第4級化イミド、ベンズアルコニウム化合物、カチオン性アミノシリコン化合物、そのポリマー、またはこれらの組合せからなる請求項1または7記載の組成物。
- カチオン性物質はハロゲン化ジアリルジメチルアンモニウムのホモポリマーである請求項1または7記載の組成物。
- 生物学的に活性な金属は銀、銅、亜鉛、カドミウム、水銀、アンチモン、金、アルミニウム、白金、パラジウム、またはこれらの組合せである請求項1または7記載の組成物。
- 吸着剤はセルロース繊維を含み、濾過助剤は約100に等しいかまたはそれより小さいカナダ標準フリーネスを有するフィブリル化リヨセル繊維を含む請求項7記載の組成物。
- 支持材を用意し;
支持材を濾過助剤で被覆してプレコートを形成し、ここで濾過助剤はその少なくとも一部がそれと会合したカウンターイオンを有するカチオン性物質で被覆されており、生物学的に活性な金属が該カチオン性物質のすぐ近傍でカウンターイオンとで沈殿されており;
流入液をプレコートに通過させ;
流入液の汚染物をプレコート上に保持し;そして
清澄な流出液を得る
ことによる流入液を濾過する方法。 - 流入液にプレコートを通過させる工程の前に濾過助剤を流入液に加える工程をさらに含む請求項11記載の方法。
- 支持材を濾過助剤で被覆する工程において、濾過助剤はナノ繊維、セルロース、珪藻土、活性炭、活性アルミナ、ケイ酸塩、ポリマー樹脂または繊維、またはこれらの組合せからなる請求項11記載の方法。
- 支持材を濾過助剤で被覆する工程において、濾過助剤は未処理の濾過助剤物質と混合される請求項11記載の方法。
- 支持材を濾過助剤で被覆する工程において、濾過助剤は第4級化アミン、第4級化アミド、第4級アンモニウム塩、第4級化イミド、ベンズアルコニウム化合物、カチオン性アミノシリコン化合物、そのポリマー、およびこれらの組合せからなる群より選択されるカチオン性物質で被覆される請求項11記載の方法。
- 支持材を濾過助剤で被覆する工程において、濾過助剤はハロゲン化ジアリルジメチルアンモニウムのホモポリマーで被覆される請求項11記載の方法。
- 支持材を濾過助剤で被覆する工程において、生物学的に活性な金属は銀、銅、亜鉛、カドミウム、水銀、アンチモン、金、アルミニウム、白金、パラジウム、またはこれらの組合せである請求項11記載の方法。
- 流入液中の微生物学的汚染物の対数減少を少なくとも約4とする工程をさらに含む請求項11記載の方法。
- 実質的に本明細書の実施例で詳しく説明されたような請求項1または7記載の組成物。
