Abstract
Description
硝化および脱窒を実行するために知られている様々な細菌株を含む細菌混合物を混合することにより、硝化および脱窒に有用な細菌混合物を調整した。
不燃性で、粘度が低く、容易に給送可能な液体であり、微生物の早期成長に対して安定した炭素混合物は、100mlの脱イオン水に50gのMaltrin M250(Grain Processing Corporation,Muscatine,Iowa,USA)を添加し、固定を溶解させ、10mlのメタノール(Sigma−Aldrich)を添加して調製した。炭素源に加えて、細菌の培養に一般的に使用され、R.N.AtlasによるHandbook of Microbiological Media(CRC Press,Cleveland,Ohio)およびATCCカタログ(ATCC 12301 Park Lane Drive,Rockville,Maryland)に記載された媒質処方に記載された他の微量栄養素を一般的に推奨された量で添加した。炭素および栄養素の混合物は、望ましくない早期成長により4週間にわたって測定した状態で、安定していることが判明した。
次に、細菌および炭素/栄養素混合物を、汚水処理試験施設において、図2および図3で説明したようなシステムでのフィールド・テストで試験した。沈降タンクを刺激する排水は、36ppmの硝酸を有し、78ガロン(295.23l)/日の流量で流れ、腐敗/沈降タンクは1500ガロン(5677.5l)であった。硝化および脱窒細菌の細菌混合物を、11ml/時の流量で6時間ごとに1時間、1日に4回供給した。炭素/栄養素は、110ml/時の流量で4時間ごとに1時間、合計で660ml/日を添加した。サンプルは、14日後に濾過領域の1フィート(30.48cm)の深さおよび2フィート(60.96cm)の深さで採取し、硝酸の窒素を試験した。結果を表1に示す。

次に、図2および図3で説明した細菌および栄養素混合物を、汚水処理試験施設において、図5で説明したようなシステムでのフィールド・テストで試験した。処理システムの反応器システムからの放出物は、フィールド・テスト前に91〜135ppmの半野の総窒素量(TN)を有し、排水処理施設の放出限界に一般的に必要なTKNの放出の最終濃度ではない。腐敗/沈降タンクを刺激する排水は、91〜135ppmのTNを有し、3,500ガロン(13247.5l)/日の流量で流れ、腐敗タンクは5000ガロン(18925l)であった。アンモニアを硝酸および亜硝酸に、さらに硝酸および亜硝酸を窒素に変換することができる硝化および脱窒細菌を含む細菌混合物を、1リットル/日の流量で1週間、反応器容器に入口で連続的に添加した。1週間の最後に、細菌添加を250ml/日に変更した。サンプルは、最初に細菌を添加した12〜19日後に放出点で採取し、外部の水質試験ラボラトリでTNを試験した。結果を表1に示す。

実施例4で説明した反応器は、細菌混合物での処理前に約8フィート(243.8cm)×8フィート(243.8cm)×8フィート(243.8cm)であり、約4フィート(121.9cm)の高さまでスラッジがあった。約90日の最後で測定した時、反応器内のスラッジは約1フィート(30.5cm)であった。
図12で示すような220ガロン(832.7l)/日のOARの電源断ストレス試験を、以下のように実行した。OARをマサチューセッツ代替腐敗テスト・センタ(Otis,Massachusetts)に設置した。排水の硝化および脱窒を監視し、4日間の完全電源断の効果を判断した。2002年5月24日から5月28日の4日間に、OARシステムの全ての電源を遮断した。溶出物はシステム内へと送り続けた。4日の期間中、空気、炭素、熱および細菌は機能しなかった。システムの停止中の総窒素量(アンモニアと硝酸)は、なお20mg/リットル未満であった。電力回復から3日後に、総窒素量は低下し始め、7日で10mg/リットル未満になった。
Claims (25)
- 水中の混入物を処理する装置で、
前記混入物を処理するために効果的な成長中の細菌の源と、
所定の期間にわたって所定の量で前記混入物に前記成長中細菌を導入する制御装置とを備える装置。 - 前記細菌が好気性状態で前記混入物を処理する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記制御装置が、さらに前記成長中細菌の栄養素を導入する、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記栄養素が炭素源を備える、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記細菌が嫌気性状態で前記混入物を処理する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記制御装置がさらに前記成長中細菌の栄養素を導入する、請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記栄養素が炭素源を備える、請求項6に記載の装置。
- さらに、硝化容器を備える、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記細菌が、前記硝化容器の上流に導入される、請求項8に記載の装置。
- 前記硝化容器を約10℃から約40℃の温度へと加熱する、請求項8に記載の装置。
- 前記成長中細菌が対数成長期にある、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記成長中細菌が脱窒細菌である、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 混入物を含む水を浄化するプロセスで、
混入物を処理するために効果的な成長中の細菌を前記混入物含有水に提供することと、
前記混入物含有水の浄化のために効果的な所定の期間にわたり、所定の量で前記成長中細菌を前記混入物含有水に導入することとを含むプロセス。 - 前記プロセスが好気性状態で実行される、請求項13に記載のプロセス。
- 前記プロセスが嫌気性状態で実行される、請求項13に記載のプロセス。
- さらに、前記成長中細菌に炭素源を提供する、請求項13に記載のプロセス。
- 前記炭素源が静菌薬を含む、請求項16に記載のプロセス。
- さらに、細菌に前記炭素源を供給することにより、前記成長中細菌を生成することを含む、請求項16に記載のプロセス。
- 沈降タンクを含む排水処理システム内で、成長中細菌を前記システムに導入する装置で、
前記混入物を処理するために効果的な成長中細菌の源と、
所定の期間にわたって所定の量で前記沈降タンクの下流で前記混入物に前記成長中細菌を導入する制御装置とを備える装置。 - 前記沈降タンクが腐敗タンクである、請求項19に記載の排水処理システム。
- 前記制御装置がさらに、前記成長中細菌の炭素源を導入する、請求項19に記載の排水処理システム。
- 細菌および細菌栄養素を排水処理システムに導入する装置で、
前記細菌を保存する細菌保持タンクと、
前記細菌を前記システムに給送するために、前記保持タンクと流体連絡する細菌ポンプと、

前記細菌および前記栄養素の前記給送のタイミングを制御する制御装置とを備える装置。 - さらに、酸素を前記システムに導入する手段を備える、請求項22に記載の装置。
- 混入物を含む密と前記混入物のレベルを低下させる細菌とを備える廃水システムで混入物を処理するプロセスで、
前記細菌の栄養素を前記システムに導入することを含み、前記栄養素が、不燃性、非爆発性炭素源の水溶液を備えるプロセス。 - 前記水溶液が少なくとも1つの炭水化物を備える、請求項24に記載のプロセス。
