Abstract
【解決手段】 燃料電池は、互いに隣接する単位セルの間にセパレータ(10B)が配置され、該セパレータを通して単位セルの空気極側に空気と水の混合流が供給される。セパレータは、単位セルの少なくとも空気極側の表面部分に、混合流を透過する網目状の導電体14を備える。導電体は網目部分に水を保持し、目詰まりにより電極と空気の接触を妨げることなく単位セルの熱により蒸発する水の潜熱により単位セルを冷却する。

Claims (8)
- 電解質膜(11)と該電解質膜の両側に設けられた燃料極(13)及び空気極(12)とからなる単位セル(10A)がセパレータ(10B)を挟んで積層され、該セパレータを通して単位セルの空気極側に空気と水の混合流が供給される燃料電池において、
前記セパレータは、単位セルの両極の少なくとも空気極側の表面部分に、前記混合流を透過する網目状の導電体(14)を備えることを特徴とする燃料電池。 - 前記網目状の導電体は、網目の開口率が25%以上である、請求項1記載の燃料電池。
- 前記網目状の導電体は、前記水を付着させるべく親水性処理が施されている、請求項1又は2記載の燃料電池。
- 前記セパレータは、前記網目状の導電体とガス遮断用の基板(16)とを重ね合せた層構造とされる、請求項1、2又は3記載の燃料電池。
- 前記網目状の導電体は、断面形状が矩形波状となるように屈曲されており、前記ガス遮断用の基板は、薄平板状に形成されている、請求項4記載の燃料電池。
- 前記網目状の導電体は、網線の間に前記混合流を透過する金網で構成される、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項記載の燃料電池。
- 前記網目状の導電体は、金属薄板に前記混合流を透過するパンチ孔が形成されたパンチングメタルで構成される、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項記載の燃料電池。
- 前記網目状の導電体は、金属薄板に前記混合流を透過する菱形スリットが形成されたランスカットメタルで構成される、請求項1〜5のいずれか1項記載の燃料電池。
