Abstract
【解決手段】 1フィールドをリセット工程(TR)、アドレス工程(TA)およびサステイン工程(TS)を有する複数のサブフィールドSF1〜SF8に分割してその組み合わせで階調表示を行うフィールド時分割型の表示装置の駆動方法であって、所定の輝度レベルより大きな輝度レベルで常時点灯するリセット工程を持たない少なくとも1つの追加サブフィールドSFexをさらに備えるように構成する。

Claims (10)
- 1フィールドをリセット工程、アドレス工程およびサステイン工程を有する複数のサブフィールドに分割してその組み合わせで階調表示を行うフィールド時分割型の表示装置の駆動方法であって、
所定の入力輝度レベルより大きな輝度レベルで常時点灯するリセット工程を持たない少なくとも1つの追加サブフィールドをさらに備えることを特徴とする表示装置の駆動方法。 - 請求項1に記載の表示装置の駆動方法において、前記追加サブフィールドは、輝度の重みが『1』のサブフィールドよりも輝度が小さいことを特徴とする表示装置の駆動方法。
- 請求項1に記載の表示装置の駆動方法において、前記追加サブフィールドのアドレス工程は、全てのアドレスを選択してアドレス放電を行うことを特徴とする表示装置の駆動方法。
- 請求項1に記載の表示装置の駆動方法において、前記所定の入力輝度レベルは入力輝度レベル『0』であることを特徴とする表示装置の駆動方法。
- 請求項1に記載の表示装置の駆動方法において、前記追加サブフィールドは、前記フィールドにおいて最初に点灯するサブフィールドとして配置されることを特徴とする表示装置の駆動方法。
- 請求項4に記載の表示装置の駆動方法において、複数の前記追加サブフィールドを含み、該複数の追加サブフィールドは、前記フィールドにおいてそれぞれ1番目と2番目に点灯するサブフィールドとして配置されることを特徴とする表示装置の駆動方法。
- 請求項4に記載の表示装置の駆動方法において、前記追加サブフィールドは、該追加サブフィールドのアドレス工程の前に配置された前処理工程を有することを特徴とする表示装置の駆動方法。
- 請求項1に記載の表示装置の駆動方法において、前記追加サブフィールドは、サステイン工程を持たないことを特徴とする表示装置の駆動方法。
- 請求項1に記載の表示装置の駆動方法において、該表示装置は、プラズマディスプレイ装置であることを特徴とする表示装置の駆動方法。
- 表示パネル、該表示パネルを駆動するドライバ、および、画像信号を受け取って前記表示パネルに適した画像データに変換すると共に、前記ドライバを介して前記表示パネルを駆動する制御回路を備える表示装置であって、前記制御回路は、前記請求項1〜9のいずれか1項に記載の表示装置の駆動方法を適用して前記表示パネルを駆動することを特徴とする表示装置。
