Abstract
691,085. Automatic bobbin changing looms. CLAASEN, [nee METZ], E. E. Feb. 26, 1951 [Sept. 4, 1950], No. 4623/51. Class 142(iii) In a loom with automatic bobbin changing, a lever 9 is held above the path of an abutment 10 on the slay 11 by a pin 15 on the end of the armature of an electromagnet and urged outwardly thereof by a spring; the lever 9 falls into the path of the abutment when an electric weft feeler mechanism energizes the electromagnet and the pin 15 is withdrawn. The lever 9 is provided with a triangular extension 16 which bears on the pin 15. A stop 17 holds the lever 9 in its operative position and when the abutment strikes the lever 9 a member 8 and a transfer hammer 3 are swung about a pivot 4 and the lowermost bobbin 2 in the magazine 1 is pushed into the shuttle. The stop 17 may be replaced by a stepped end portion on the pin 15 so that when the pin is withdrawn the lever 9 drops from an upper to a lower step on the pin. The magazine has a spring-urged closing plate 12. A spring 5 returns the hammer and lever 9 to their inoperative positions.
