[Class 142 (iii).] Shuttles, positioning for weft replenishing; shuttles, changing bobbins and the like in; weft, cutting.- The sliding part a<2> of the shuttle positioner described in the parent Specification is normally held in its retracted position by a bell crank b and an arm o on the controller shaft n, another arm m<1> on the shaft n and a cam plate l on the part a<2> at the same time causing the positioner a<1>, a<2> to be moved about its vertical pivot so that the bowl h<1> on the sley cannot engage the bowl h which replaces the cam h<5> described in the parent Specification. The part a2 also carries a cam plate a<3> which when the part a<2> is retracted or forced back by an improperly positioned shuttle &c. engages the pin j<4> and lifts the bolt j<2> of the hammer out of the path of the bunter k on the sley. The weft cutter e pivoted on the positioner a<1> has a cam-shaped rear end el and is operated by the abutment f on the sley and the bowl g on the sliding part a<2>. The controller shaft n is rotated in one direction by a spring r and in the other by means of an arm p and link q when the rod q<3> is moved beyond the end of the link by the feeler mechanism.
