Abstract
354,065. Looms with automatic weftreplenishing means. POLLARD (1923), Ltd., W., Malvern Mills, and WILLIAMS, H., 66, Walton Lane, both in Nelson, Lancashire. Aug. 14, 1930, No. 24318. [Class 142 (iii).] Shuttle-changing mechanism of the rotary box type.-A weft feeler B, slidably mounted on guides b<1> and maintained in the forward position by a spring b<2>, is provided with a pivotally mounted shuttle feeler D, the longer arm of which is connected to a rod d<3> slidably supported at its outer end by an arm e of a finger rod E. When the weft is exhausted to a predetermined extent, the shuttle strikes an adjustable stud d on the shuttle feeler causing it to rotate and push the rod d<3> in front of the weft hammer G, thereby establishing a connection between the latter and the arm e and giving a rocking movement of the rod E, which effects the engagement of the usual catch lever with a cam-operated lever and operates the rotary box. A bent plate g on the weft hammer engages the end of the rod d<3> on the return movement and returns it, with the lever D, to normal position.
