Abstract

355,500. Weft feeler arrangements for stopping looms. POLLARD (1923), Ltd., W., Malvern Mills, and WILLIAMS, H., 66, Walton Lane, both in Nelson, Lancashire. Aug. 14, 1930, No. 24316. [Class 142 (i).] A weft feeler B, forming part of a frame b slidably supported on stationary guides b<1>, is provided with a pivotally mounted bell-crank lever D having an adjustable stop d, which is actuated by the shuttle, when the weft is exhausted to a predetermined extent, to turn the lever D and push a rod d<3>, connected therewith and operatively connected with the weft fork lever e<1>, into the path of the weft fork hammer F, thereby effecting stoppage of the loom. The rod d<3> is slidably supported in a bracket d<4> on the weft fork holder e, and is returned to normal position by means of a cam plate f on the hammer. The feeler is normally maintained in a forward position by springs b<2>, and a blade spring d<2> or other frictional device is employed to prevent the lever D from turning too freely.
