933,314. Automatic shuttle changing. M. VAN DE WIELE. June 29, 1959 [Nov. 27, 1958], No. 22166/59. Class 142 (2). Cop feeler, Fig. 2.-A spring strip 5 mounted in the shuttle rises as the bobbin empties until it touches a contact 10 to connect together plates 3, 4 on the side of the shuttle. When the shuttle enters the box at the opposite end of the loom to the magazine, a circuit is closed through feelers carried by the shuttle box to energize an electromagnet. Shuttle changing, Fig. 6.-The electromagnet slides a continuously-rotating cam (not shown) along its shaft into register with a lever, whereby linkage 41, 45 lifts the shuttle box to receive the spent shuttle in a lower cell 50 which is curved to divert it into a receptacle. At front centre, a striker 56, lifted with the shuttle box, operates shuttle inserting hammers 69, 70 through a dog 57, levers 60 pivoted at 61, and pin-and-slot connections 63 with arms 64. Linkage (not shown) from the hammer shaft 66 operates a cam which projects a finger into the magazine to hold back the stack of shuttles.
