Class 142(iii) A weft feeler arrangement comprises a plunger i that engages the shuttle box and a feeler a that engages the bobbin. At each beat-up the plunger i is moved by the shuttle box and its end i<SP>1</SP> rocks a lever f about a pivot g. The lever f then moves a member d. When weft replenishment is not necessary, the feeler a engages the weft in the shuttle and moves the member d before the latter is moved by the plunger i and a lever n pivoted at n<SP>1</SP> is not moved. If weft replenishment is necessary, the plunger i moves the member d before the latter is depressed and, when the feeler a subsequently engages the almost depleted bobbin, the member d is pressed on to a lug m, the lever n is turned, a link o is moved, and the loom stopped or replenishing mechanism actuated. If the loom is to be stopped, the link o moves a rod to a position where it is engaged by the moving weft hammer. This rod may have a lever attached that knocks off the starting handle, alternatively, the rod may be attached to the usual rod that is moved, when the weft fork engages its hammer, to stop the loom. The cloth takeup may be put out of action.
