694,666. Weft-feeler arrangements for looms. LOGGIE, R. J., BOND, J. R., HART, W., (Representatives of GALLOWAY, J. A.], and CARGILL, H. S. Dec. 24, 1951 [Dec. 28, 1950], No. 31469/50. Classes 142(i) and 142 (iii) A welt-feeler device stopping the loom. when the cop in the shuttle is nearly exhausted, comprises a finger 10 formed on one arm 9 of a bell-crank lever pivoted to a rod 7 supported by a bar 6 clamped in a bracket 1 on a radius rod 2 pivoted to a fixed part of the loom. The other arm of the bell-crank lever is formed as a detent 11. Finger 10 is adapted to penetrate the opening in the shuttle and engage the cop during beat-up. If the cop is nearly exhausted finger 10 is not moved sufficiently to remove detent 11 from the path of a lever 12, oscillated when the shuttle is at the appropriate end of the slay, which causes radius rod 2 to be moved about its pivot 3 thus displacing the starting handle 5 of the loom from a notch to stop the loom.
