Abstract

810,666. Automatic cop changing in looms. KEAY Ltd., T. C. March 19, 1957 [March 23, 1956], No. 9109/56. Class 142(2) Extraction of the remnant of a cop at one end of a loom in preparation for insertion of a fresh cop at the other end is controlled by a cop feeler 1 depending from a pivot 1a. A lever 3 oscillating about a pivot 4 carries at its end 6 a floating lever 5 normally kept in line with the arm 3a of the lever 3 by a spring 6a. When a depleted cop fails to rock the feeler 1, its tail 2 remains in the path of the end 5a of the lever whereby, as the pivot 6 is moved forward by the lever 3 during beat-up, the other end 5b of the lever 5 strikes a latch 7 to release a hand lever 8 which moves to bring a cop extractor into operation.
