Abstract

865,655. Automatic bobbin changing in looms. GUSKEN, T. A. Feb. 26, 1959, No. 6734/59. Class 142(2). A loom in which two shuttles are picked simultaneously through superposed sheds has bobbin changing mechanism at both ends, one for the upper shuttle and one for the lower shuttle. When replenishment is initiated, a striker 17 is raised into the path of a lever 18 on the slay, whereby the lower shuttle box 15 is moved forward (as shown); a striker 25 on the box then actuates the transfer hammer 19 by displacing a dog 24 raised by the striker 17. A similar mechanism operates on the upper shuttle box at the other end of the loom.
