Abstract
748,252. Automatic cop changing in looms. URQUHART LINDSAY & ROBERTSON ORCHAR, Ltd. May 22, 1954, No. 15108/54. Addition to 740,355. Drawings to Specification. Class 142 (2). Instead of anchoring the tail ends of the cops stacked in a magazine, they are left hanging loose and are long enough so that when a cop is transferred into the shuttle and the shuttle is picked to the other end of the loom, the weft tail remains in the shed and is secured by the changing of the shed. The magazine has a slot in its end wall through which the ends protrude and down which they slide as the cops descend to the transfer position; there may be a slot in both end walls so that the same design of magazine can be used at either end of a loom.
