Abstract
938,486. Drop box looms. SCHONHERR G.m.b.H. Dec. 20, 1960 [Dec. 22, 1959], No. 43694/60. Class 142 (2). - The invention concerns a loom having drop boxes on both sides wherein a shuttle is felt in the drop box on one side and replenished on the other side by being pushed out of the drop box from the rear on to a bobbin-changing platform at race level on the sley. Upon feeling the shuttle, a selected solenoid 37 operates to release a selected bobbin in a magazine 34, a solenoid 49 operates to lower a lever 48 in the path of the sley 1 so that a rod 40 pushes the bobbin to its position over the changing platform 15. A solenoid 21 then raises a lever 22 Into the path of an arm 19<SP>1</SP> on the sley 1 and also raises a rod 26 to release a catch which retains the shuttle swell 4. Advance of the sley then rocks lever 19 so that the end 20 of the arm 19 pushes the shuttle on to the platform 15 and further advance of the sley pivots a lever 29 (by means of a rod 28 positioned by a rod 27 from lever 22) to hammer the new bobbin and the old bobbin out. Retraction of the sley and release of the solenoids reverses the above operations and actuates a lever 23 to push the shuttle back in the box. Specification 938,487 is referred to.
