Loom shuttle-changing mechanism; stop-motions. -A feeler a is pivoted upon a pin d, supported by a slide e, which is mounted in a guide g, and normally pressed by a spring f towards the shuttle. The feeler carries an arm h which bears against an adjustable screw q on an arm m secured to a shaft l. A spring k, encircling the pin d, tends to keep the lever h and feeler a in the positions shown in Fig. 1. The shaft l also carries a cam n which, when in the position shown in Fig. 3, holds a lever c out of the path of the weft-fork hammer b; a spring i holds the cam in this position. The lever c is connected to the shuttle-changing mechanism of an automatic loom, or to the stop-mechanism of an ordinary loom, as the case may be. The front end of the feeler a is serrated, and as long as there is sufficient tightly-wound yarn on the bobbin, the teeth engage with the yarn, and the feeler and slide e are pushed back at each beat-up, but when the yarn is nearly exhausted the feeler oscillates and causes the lever c to fall into the path of the hammer b.
