Abstract

569,148. Pulverulent fuel burners. WATSON, J. Nov. 1, 1943, No. 17998. [Class 75 (i)] Pulverulent fuel and air is supplied by a pipe E to a chamber D where it mixes with secondary air which is supplied by a pipe A to an annular chamber surrounding the chamber D and is caused by plates G to pass to the front of the chamber so as to become heated by the burner flame before entering the rear of the chamber D through a semicircular aperture M. The mixture is discharged through an aperture F surrounding a flame spreader L. Part of the secondary air is allowed to enter the chamber D through small holes K to disintegrate the fuel and part is discharged through small holes H at the front of the burner to protect the burner mouth from excessive temperatures.
