Class 51 (1) In a cyclone furnace, in addition to a regulated quantity of air supplied to the interior of the furnace chamber a further regulable quantity of air is supplied in the neighbourhood of the furnace chamber gas outlet. As shown in Fig. 1 a cyclone chamber 3 having secondary air inlets 18 is provided with an annular air manifold 23 formed with nozzles 24. When burning a low volatile fuel insufficient air is supplied to the interior of the cyclone chamber to effect complete combustion, the gases issuing from the cyclone chamber being burnt by admixture with air from the nozzles 24.
