708,897. Cyclone furnaces. BABCOCK & WILCOX, Ltd. July 25, 1952 [July 28, 1951], No. 18903/52. Class 51 (1) A cyclone furnace comprises a disc-shaped furnace chamber 1 positioned with its axis upright and having a central slag outlet 3 in the floor and a central gas outlet 11 in the roof which discharges gases to a secondary furnace chamber 12 having an internal diameter considerably smaller than that of the cyclone furnace chamber and disposed above and coaxially with respect to the chamber. Fuel and carrier air is fed to the cyclone chamber through a duct 5 and air is supplied through ducts 6 and 8. Air is supplied to the secondary chamber through nozzles 18.
