697,838. Cyclone furnaces. BABCOCK & WILCOX, Ltd. Jan. 11, 1952 [Jan. 13, 1951], No. 865/52. Class 51(i) Combustion apparatus comprises a cyclone furnace which discharges into a secondary furnace chamber, guide means being provided to convert rotational movement of the whirling gases discharged from the cyclone chamber into a flow along a path leading to a gas discharge flue. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2 two cyclone furnace chambers 2, 3, discharge into secondary combustion chambers 6, 7, provided with curved walls 40, 41, which guide the combustion gases upwards to a common discharge flue, (not shown).
