A cyclone furnace has secondary-air ' ducts 15 which discharge tangentially to the furnace periphery and primaryair and fuel ducts 13 which discharge at an acute angle to the tangent to the periphery, so that the stream of fuel and primary air is directed towards the stream of secondary air at a location displaced along the periphery of the chamber.
