Abstract

700,670. Cyclone furnaces. BABCOCK & WILCOX, Ltd. Oct. 1, 1952 [Oct. 2, 1951], No. 24565/52. Class 51 (1) In a cyclone furnace a burner 8 discharges carrier air and entrained fuel particles in a radial direction through an annular region at the end of the furnace chamber. remote from the gas outlet therefrom, the chamber having secondaryair inlets 21 and 22 which produce a peripheral, whirling, stream of air in the chamber. The burner has ports 9 for the discharge of fuel and carrier air and ports 13, 17 and 18 for the discharge of additional air.
