697,941. Cyclone furnaces. BABCOCK & WILCOX, Ltd. Jan. 21, 1952 [Jan. 26, 1951], No. 1663/52. Class 51(i) A cyclone furnace of the type comprising a circular combustion chamber 16 into which secondary air is introduced tangentially together with a circular burner chamber 34 into which primary air and fuel is introduced tangentially is characterized by the provision of a baffle member 56 of circular cross-section inwardly spaced from the peripheral wall of the burner chamber 34 and defining with that wall an annular zone open at the end thereof nearer the combustion chamber. The baffle member 56 is in the form of a sleeve into which tertiary air is supplied, through a chamber 43, from a conduit 53. Fuel and air are introduced into the burner chamber through a duct 35. Water jackets 38 and 49 are provided. Specifications 598,141 and 598,142 are referred to.
