Abstract
692,393. Pulverulent-fuel cyclone furnaces. POLLOPAS PATENTS, Ltd., and BURG, H. June 13, 1951, No. 14025/51. Class 51(i) In a pulverized-fuel cyclone furnace having a burner discharging into a combustion chamber the walls of which are provided with inlet apertures for a secondary gas, the secondary gas is admitted into the combustion chamber only at points which are spaced away from the burner orifice, the zone of the combustion chamber immediately adjacent the burner orifice being imperforate and constructed with a tapering internal surface so as to constitute a radiation head by means of which heat from the flame will be reflected into the combustion chamber. As shown in Fig. 1 a burner tube 5 delivers a fuel-air mixture, having a rotary motion, into a combustion chamber provided with tangentially-disposed secondary air inlets 8, the section 1 of the combustion chamber immediately adjacent the burner being imperforate and of conical shape. Specifications 692,390 and 692,392 are referred to.
