Abstract
1,024,775. Liquid fuel burners. TECALEMIT (DEVELOPERS) Ltd. June 16, 1964 [July 2, 1963], No. 26179/63. Heading F4T. A liquid fuel burner comprises a nozzle 1 and a deflector 12 on a bridge 13, a jet of fluid mixed with air being burnt in a toroidal ring of flame 29. Liquid fuel from pipe 16 is forced through a fine jet 21 whilst air from pipe 17 is forced through annular clearance 24 to atomize the fuel. The resulting vapour stream passes through opening 31 in wall 30 of flame pot 5 to strike deflector 12, the jet being deflected to form flame 29. The majority of the combustion air enters chamber 11 through holes 32 in wall 10 but some air enters chamber 7 through holes 33 to help prevent the vapour stream contacting the walls of a tube 2 or wall 30. Ignition is effected in chamber 7 by a spark or other igniter 34 and the burned parts are so dimensioned that there is substantially no contact between the flame 29 and wall 10. The wall 10, deflector 12 and wall 30 are of a heat resistant material, e.g. stainless steel, and form one part removably mounted on the casing 6 and tube 2 which are of mild steel. In Fig. 1, not shown, two adjacent burners have a common casing 6 divided into two by a wall.
